Well, as you know, the BEST SHOW EVER!!!!!!! (besides possibly CL) had it's series finale tonight.

It was amazing.

The two-part finale blew my mind (the poison was in the wipes! What irony! I laughed so hard!)

Anyways... I think that it turned out well. The mystery was solved. Monk was saved. And he was united with someone who brought joy into his life; Trudy's daughter Molly.

Natalie seems happy in her relationship, Randy is the police chief and is also happy. Stottlemeyer is married and happy.

And best of all, Monk is happy.

He will continue to solve murders. He will consider to right wrongs, to put the world at order. But at least now he can be a little more at piece.

The very ending with the song brought me to deep emotions.

Monk is great. USA is completely in the right in their claim; the most compelling characters on television.

We'll miss you Monk! We'll always remember you and the journey you brought us on each step of the way to solving the big case.

Now, Monk, with Trudy's case at rest, may you move on, but never forget, in peace.

But watch out! It's a jungle out there!

^-^

I watched the finale with my family, and I'll admit, it was hard to hold back tears.

However, the plot was a little to thinly veiled. ... Well, spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen it.

[spoilers] It felt a little bit like they really pushed for the ending. (In fact, I lied. I think they didn't push. It felt too effortless, like they coudn't be bothered to come up with something too too too original.)

What could end an entire series? Well, something that reaches over the entire thing. Trudy's death comes in handy. She must have left some kind of incriminating evidence somewhere! And what Irony! it was right with Monk for, what, eleven, no, twelve years! Right on the bookcase! And what's this? He's been unable to reach the evidence because of the problems it left behind, yet the answer to his prayers and trials is within the things he keeps so far away? Scandalous! But no, he would never do something like that. what could possibly make him do that! Death, you say? Yes! Let's have vomiting, followed by death! (Best part of the whole finale) But how to kill the poor sap! Well, he's always using handwipes. Wouldn't it be such a perfect parallel if he was also being killed by the problem he developed that he's trying to solve with the very thing that hurts him that... No, wait my head hurts, give me a minute...

*deep breaths*

I'm okay. Alright, where was I? Oh, right. Hand wipes. Well, it either as to be someone introduced within the two episodes, or one of the recurring characters that shop up in every episode. Since changing vanilla foils into the Snidley Whiplash of the series is a no no for writers to their fans, it must be the guy they randomly brought in. Or the strange six fingered man! Or, hey, why not both?!

And then there was the final moments. Did anyone else suspect that Trudy's daughter would be the next person to get offed? I thought about it, was almost expecting it ffom the aforementioned patterns, but 'm glad it didn't happen. Then the entire last two hours would've left off exatly where we started, and I would have to raid the studio and take all the writers hostage and- Oh wait, I shouldn't be confessing this...

All in all, it was fast, it was cheap, and it was a finish. Everything it was expected to be, and extremely predictable. So predictable, it's hard to not stand up and scream the next clue at the screen. (When in the first five minutes you're screaming It's him! It's the judge!, it's very difficult to not storm off for the next hour and fifty five minutes. )

[/spoiler]

*pants* Okay, I'mma done now.

Yeah...

but still, I thought it was good all in all.

Monk figured it out. That's all that matters really.

The ending was brilliant... though... really... bit like "yeah, let's throw in this unpredictable twist."

Seeing and hearing about trudy... would anybody EVER have guessed this? before these two fateful episodes?
