American Dad is one of my favorite animated shows. It gets a bad rap because Seth McFarlene's brand of humor is strictly love-it-or-hate-it, but this one is definitely the black sheep of the Seth Trinity and, in my opinion, all the better for it. Does anyone else like it as much as I do? If so, what do you like about it? My favorite character is probably Stan, because he makes me laugh the most and his voice is inherently funny, but I like the others too. Francine, Klaus, and Steve are all very endearing, and it's easy to relate to Hayley and how she feels about living with a family whose general viewpoint differs so radically from her own. The only characters I dislike are Roger (because he's so self-absorbed) and Avery Bullock. I also have a soft spot for Michelle, the angel from the two Christmas specials. Not to mention that her description of Heaven in the new one from last Sunday is exactly the way I always envisioned Heaven, which made me smile.
My favorite episode is probably the "Stan of Arabia" two-parter, but the latest premiere (about the Rapture) is a close second-placer.
