Since LF grew on members, we got the UK invasion as well. I'm aware that SamBlob knows about this sport and I'm sure the UK mates adore football, given the fact loads of persons go and watch the Premier League matches, almost filling up stadiums.

Btw, has anyone seen on the news Ronaldinho kicking the ball towards the woodward and getting the ball back to him without falling the ball to the ground like 4 times?

Different types of football:

Association football. What most of the world knows as football, but what the USA, Canada, Wales, Australia and others refer to as soccer to differentiate it from other local games also known as football.

American football: A game played in North America in which the "ball" isn't round and the feet are hardly used compared with how they are used in soccer.

Rugby football (aka "Rugby"): A game played in the British Isles and parts of the Commonwealth that also used a non-round ball but involves rather more kicking (of both ball and players) than American football does. Both American football and Australian Rules Football are partly based on this.

Australian Rules Football. This is a bar brawl held on a cricket oval, with a rugby ball somehow involved. Based on rugby and cricket (!), but is definitely NOT a gentleman's game the way cricket is (used to be?).

"Real Football": I read about this in the Guinness Book of Records once, but I have no idea what it is.

Mostly Europe. Also, at Latinamerica Argentina and Peru play it. But it's not much popular.

Yeah.. as much as the "football vs soccer" thing goes.. I'm an American so naturally I call it soccer, but I suppose football makes sense.. (yeah I know i'm not contributing to anything leave me alone)

Oh yeah, you forgot one:

Flag (american) football. Basically like football but it uses flags instead of trying to kill one another.. I'd rather not talk about it, since my dad pretty much forced me to play for a season (I'm not much of a sports person.. -___-; )

Who saw the England-Argentina match yesterday? It was a hell of a match!! 3-2, England won. Goals from Rooney and Owen(2). Crespo and Ayala scored for Argentina.

That match was exciting and really awesome!! Argentina f***ed it up when they took off Riquelme and Ayala... and then England could had the chance of winning.

Football legend George Best, who played for the Irish national team and Manchester United died today aged 59 after suffering a long illness due to infection from his kidney (which got a transplant in 2002) and internal bleeding. May he rest in peace.
