Young Wizard Series (The best wizard series I have read!)

Anyone else here know about the Young Wizard Series by Diane Duane? I just got the 8th one (Wizards at War ) and I'm reading it...This series is awesome....I guess I might as well post the name of the first two since when I was reading them I had NO IDEA they were part of the Young Wizard Series

1st book: So You Want to be a Wizard
2nd book: Deep Wizardry
(while I'm at it...)
3rd book: High Wizardry
4th book: A Wizard Aboard
5th: A Wizard's Dilema (sp?)
6th: A Wizard Alone
7th: A Wizard's Holiday
8th: Wizards at War
9th: Wizard of Mars...I believe (this isn't out yet...It's suppose to be out October-ish of 2006)

This series is WAY better than HP since Duane is an awesome writer and uses themes not found in books made for kids (i.e. sacrifice, deals, death, etc...)

So...after this long post....Anyone else know of this series?

OMG, the 8th book is out!? I have to go get it.. maybe I can get my mom to take me to the bookstore tomorrow. I've been needing something good to read. All I have are books from series I've already read and a few new manga volumes of DNAngel..

I don't like Dark so much, though. IDK why, he just annoys me. Riku is awesome and I actually like Risa. She's a nice girl despite everything else. xD

How much of the manga have you read (or anime have you seen, if that's the case)?

I have read the first 9 volumes...I haven't seen the anime (I've heard it's a lot more graphic (like Satoshi actually gives Daisuke/Wiz mouth-to-mouth....)) I beleive the tenth one is out....but our stupid bookstore doesn't have it yet....(or maybe because it's not out yet....) I like Dark. He looks so cool when he's in black and white....Ahhhh the pictures of him on the cover are like "Ahhhhhh my eyes bleed (especially the purple hair...It's like aggggg)..."....lol Daisuke is so cute and innocent and pure....Wiz is cute....Daisuke and Wiz transformed as Dark or vice versa look so cute together.... (i know....messed up....) Risa looks cute...Riku does but Risa beats her by a lot!....Daisuke is so cute in a skirt or was it dresss? and sweatpants (Princess Sweatpants...lol ) How much of the manga or anime have you read or seen?

How much of the manga or anime have you read or seen?

I've read manga volumes 1-5 but have 6-10 (yes, 10 is out) in my possession and will be reading them soon. I've seen a few random episodes of the anime on Comcast's On Demand. I don't like it nearly as much as the manga but it is fairly cute and amusing. ^^

Now getting back on topic:

Have Kleenex handy when you read the end of Wizards at War.... it's fairly sad. TWO major characters die in about a 5 page span (if even that).

I must say...The beginning of the book is hilarous (sp?)! Tons and tons of sarcasm

*Minor spoilers, nothing major...*

"Oh, sure! So we're going to be running all over the place, saving the universe, and I'm going to have to write things down on stickies while I'm doing it?" Nonetheless, Dairine pulled one of the notes off and started scribbling on if furiously. "How do you spell 'commorancy'?"

"Okay," Dr. Millman murmured. "Any sense yet of what you'll have to do to reverse this situation?"
"The universe has started expanding too fast," Nita said, "and we ahve to stop it before it tears itself apart."
There was another of those long, thoughtful pauses. "Um," Millman said. "Okay, I see why you might need a few extra days off for that."

"How am I supposed to save the universe with all this noise?" he hollered.
"Go save it somewhere else?" Carmela said. "I mean even if you go read in your own room,and shut the door so that the sound of other people having lives doesn't bother you, you'll still be in this universe. Right? And you should be able to save it fine from there."

I should eat first! Ponch said. He scrambled off the bed, turned several times in an excited circle, and shot out the bedroom door and down the stairs, making small enthusiastic woofing noises to himself.
"I was going to ask you how he was taking all this," Nita said as they went after him, "but I guess that's my answer."
"As long as the end of the world doesn't mess up his mealtimes," Kit said, "he'll be fine."
