This talk can be for any of the 3 series and the manga. Dragon Ball was created by Akira Toriyama. He did the manga for Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z but he never made a Dragon Ball GT manga so the Dragon Ball GT series mustve been studio influenced. I like Dragon Ball Z the best cause of Gohan. Hes my favorite character and I love how he grows from a kid unaware of his powers to a full grown warrior like his father Goku.

for the first two series I recomend the unedited version..witout the "ghost undergarment" (for thos that have seen it)

Dragon ball itself was great, since it involved a much less linear storyline, with adventure being the first priority followed by fighting...

Then...came dbz...boasting action up to wazoo and a sotryline as linear as a chariot horse's eyesight...twas good until the super sayajin barrage...with everyone turning brit like mad (term we use here for the SS's...since they do get blonde )

I love Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, but not Dragon Ball GT... wasn't that much into it...

*Huggles Enki* Gohan forever! I like him better when he's older though.

And you're right, GT was made because everyone making money one it didn't like the idea that Toriyama was cutting of their several bilion yen cash crop that DBZ was raking in. Hence, they made GT, which semi-divebomed. CN didn't even show the first few episodes because there was no action whatsoever.

Im a fan of the Kaioken attack. As for unedited, for a while, we did have the unedited version of DBZ in Spanish complete with nudity and japanese music. Loved the theme song "Cha-La-Head-Cha-La".

Although I hated Vegeta because hed kill innocent people without second thought, stole Bulma from Yamcha (though I support Bulma/Vegeta), and can never bring himself to say Goku instead of Kakarot, I liked his badness and thought he was a better villain than Piccolo (Piccolo was a villain in the first series though he was a good guy by the time DBZ rolled around).

Don't forget Kakaroto (in spanish) is Gokou's (in japanese) real name in the DragonBall series. So the Saiyans call themselves by their true name.

And Son Gohan (the old dude that raised Gokou when he came to earth) gave him the name of Gokou. First, the little baby hated him, 'til he falled down from a mountain (can't remember well this part, when Gokou fights his brother Raditz, Roshi tells it to Gokou in DBZ), bumped his head, bringing memory loss after it, so he forgot his Saiyan mision (find more planets to be sold and governed, something like that). So then Son Gohan and Gokou got along well, 'til Gokou saw the full moon (he had his tail at that moment), turned into a huge ape and killed him.

I must say something about Piccolo's origin, let's start with Kamisama, if you guys know what I mean.

Kamisama is from Namekusei, like Piccolo. To accomplish pureness and to be God, he had to let go of his evil side, and then there was Piccolo Dai Ma Ku separated from Kamisama. This last being was pure evil, and setting hell on Earth. Roshi and his master locked him in a seal for years. A time later, Pilaf set Piccolo free. So his intentions was world domination and he killed Krillin, Roshi and Chaos on the process.

But Kamisama and Mr. Popo trained Gokou to make him more powerful enough to beat Piccolo. Making his skills even more perfect. Eventually, Gokou killed Piccolo Dai Ma Ku, but before he died, he spitted an egg and there was Piccolo Jr. on Earth, having for goal to murder Gokou.

Years later, at the Tenkaichi Budokai Tournament, Piccolo Jr. got there as "Mayunia", but there was also "Shen" (Kamisama, the Shen comes from Shen Long, the Dragon from the series) there. After the semifinals, Gokou and Piccolo Jr. fought to death (whole scenario destroyed as well), and Gokou won, but both were beaten up badly. Yajirobe (a fat kid Gokou met before meeting Karim) showed up and gave Goku the seeds from Karim and he restores himself, but he gives also seeds to Piccolo, and spares his life.

Piccolo Jr. became Gokou's friend eventually, but he still wanted his rematch...

..This was the high point of the series...it was awesome in more than ten way....

I agree, the series took a downhill tumble from that point on, culminating with the Majin Buu saga.

Hey... after the Cell saga, the downhill began, along with the Majin Boo saga (who hated to see a fat b*st*rd eating tons of chocolate?). then, DBGT came and I didn't see much of it because of time scheduole, but I didn't liked it that much anymore.

The Buu saga just went on forever, from October to Jan. or Feb. Plus they repeated the episodes relentlessly, if I ever see Vegeta 'sacrifice' himself to take out Buu (which doesn't work anyway) one more time I think I could scream...

I prefered the melodic music score episodes 1-53 of DBZ had over the rock type music score episodes 54-end had. If anyone's ever listened to the Japanese theme song "Cha-La-Head-Cha-La", please say so and maybe you could translate it on the lyric thread.

OTOH, that's how I got to tape every episode of CL's first season.

In fact, that's how I got to see it in the first place. I missed the first airing completely.

Yes, but they started the Buu saga over three or four time before they even hit the end of it once. At least with CL they aired the first season in it's entirety once before repeating.

Thats what i meant whats the point of waiting that long just to see the end.And if they make you wait that long people will just think the shows over. They wouldnt be able to see the end of the show,the end gives you a clue what happens at the start of dragon ball GT.

Don't mix japanese names with funimation names in the same sentence, it sounds really noobish.
Like using Shenlong and Hercule in the same sentence, doesn't work.
