Q: What is Super Smash Brothers Brawl?
A: Super Smash Brothers Brawl (often abbreviated to SSBB or Brawl) is a fighting game for the Nintendo Wii in the Venerable Super Smash Bros. series. What makes this game important enough to have a big thread is the fact that Brawl is the first game in the series to have a mass-produced Online capability.

Q: What purpose does this thread serve?
A: This thread is to set up matches, plan tournaments, make bad puns about Kirby and Olimar, and to introduce people to the world of gaming.

Q: How do you find your Friend Code?
A: Just sign into the Nintendo Wifi and under the "Manage my Friends" button you'll see your friend code listed on top. (You actually have to have Brawl to have a Friend code. that other number is your Wii Code)

Yeah, my brother goes by CyberFox, so I took "Fox" and added the sum of 128's digits.

Note- while you need the Brawl Code (which has 12 digits) to play matches, you can use someone's Wii Code (16 digits) to send them custom stages, replays, etc.

Friend codes are given when you log into the Wi-Fi Network using your Wii. When you go to your friend roster you'll see your code first aside from all the other sets you've acquired.

Aside from that how about discussing the rule set for the mini brawl tournament we're planning.

The bigger questions:
How many items? (I like High, but wouldn't mind turning off food and transformers if desired.)
What stages? (Personally, I'd just hit Random.)

You go online in Brawl for the first time, go to friends, and look at your roster.





As for the tournament, I'd be fine with random and four stock, but I'd really like at least meduim items with no transformers.

I really don't think picking and choosing which specific items should be on or off would be a bit of a hassle. Since this isn't really a hardcore tournament I think all items should be on or off. However if you want to turn off items the only item I think is a problem are hammers.

On a side note I'll be able to brawl between 1 - 12 AM Pacific Time.

Ugh, hammers. The only truly effective anti-hammer weapon is curry.


I think it wouldn't be TOO much of a hassle, but first, we need more people. Izzit okay if my li'l sis joins in? (Olimar, Kirby most likely)

I don't mind if your sister gets in, the more the merrier. As for exchanging messages during a match, the LF chatroom would be great means to do so as we'd most likely be on LF during the fight already.

Hammers count as transformers, right? It's easy enough to turn them off- items are mostly sorted by row.

Transformers are things like mushrooms, lightning, curry, hammers (I think), stars, etc.
As opposed to food (healing stuff), weapons, and assists. I don't think Smash Balls are counted.

Err... I think that's your Wii Code. The Brawl Code comes from SSBB's WiFi Connection menu, and has 12 digits, not 16.

Well the reason why we made this thread was because we were talking about brawl in the melee thread not to mention we're using this thread as mainly for match set ups and tournament fights as opposed to general character discussion.

With that said I'm willing to throwdown between now and 4 pm (Pacific)

^^; He's right. Making a thread for general match discussion was suggested so that the "character-specific" thread could be left open to Melee discussion or just favorite character discussion (for any of the SSB series really).
