Not sure if I'll see this movie or not; still, I must say that the title font looks very familiar...

Seems mildly interesting, and considering this was made by the same fools who made that rubbish Incredibles film. Probably I'll check it out when it comes out, but it'll be shown over here as a dubbed film. Image

If by familiar you mean it being loosely inspired by a 1986 movie *cough* Short Circuit *cough* then yes.

Either way I look forward to seeing it. Pixar always comes through with there movies opposed to there rival Dreamworks which hasn't been anything but trash lately.

Pixar has long since be THE pioneer in 3d technology, and DreamWorks merely a tick for sucking money...

And I think it looks like gunship, the font for Code Lyoko.

It looks to me like an animated, cutesy version of Short Circuit. And that's not necessarily a bad thing. I think I might go see it, not sure though. Pixar is very good... Dreamworks, not so much. Shrek is pretty much all they've got, at least for recent-ish stuff.

I laugh at them both. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

... utter haet aside, Wall-E looks a liiiiittle decent. But with all movies nowadays, I'm skeptical about which movies look 'good' now. |<

Um, I've gathered the basic plot (and seen Short Circuit) and this looks quite different, IMO.

Thumbs up for a morbidly obese Linguini clone in the trailers!

I hate disney. HATE IT. I hate CGI even more as it's replacing good old 2D cartoons.

however Pixar wormed their way into my heart with Ratatouie, and this just looks so charming that I have to see it.

This movie is probably going to be something stupid. The adds make it look stupid. The pre-reviews make it look stupid. Everything about the movie looks stupid.

I get the feeling that Pixar is getting way too cocky about their concepts. Sure, some of their cartoons are really good, but I think it's getting to their heads so much that they think they can make a movie about anything and people will buy it. WALL-E looks cute, but the concept seems unsatisfactory and the whole "gimmick" that there's hardly any dialogue is starting to feel a bit much like unnecessarily artsy experimentation. I'm not going to see this one at the movies, but I'll probably check it out after the DVD release.

I'm not saying I want to see a kid's movie, I;m just a fan of "Entertainment Appreciation". Not weird at all.

Come on, It's so cute... I want to see how well they can animate an inanimate object after all these years, since that's how it all started. And look what they did with Luxo Jr! It's so cuuuute~

I found that just to watch that opening.

I wouldn't call the lack of dialog is a gimmick but more of a throwback to the glory days of animation. Some of the best animated movies, both comedic and dramatic, such as Steamboat Willie and The Matchstick Girl lacked spoken lines but are just as memorable as the big name CGI blockbusters of our generation.

WALL-E looks like its meant to be an animator's film. Normally with spoke lines, the artist is forced to match both the lips and expressions of the actor who delivered them. Removing this element frees the animator from such constraints and allows them to just concentrate on telling the story.

If Pixar was willing to do PG-13 stuff i would so wish they did a full length Team Fortress 2 movie. The game totally matches their animation style. Don't believe me?

Well...cheesy as it might look, I'm really excited for this movie. IT LOOKS SO CUTE! And cheese is good if it's cute. 8D Especially Wall-E. I want to hug him and squeeze him...which is good, because I bought myself a plushie of him. Perfectly huggable and squeezable!

Forgive me for gushing, but...I just really want to see it. ^_^;

Rating: 8.8 Stars!

Pixer still has it. They've surpassed themselves. They've made it so awesome it loops back around to horrible and goes back to awesome again. (???)

Ok... calming down.

Seriously, a well done movie. The "no dialogue" thing isn't quite true; some of the characters are quite talkative, and the others are very expressive anyway.

Well, I saw this movie a few days ago, and although I admit it was cute, I saw it as a bit... politically charged. Or something along those lines.

My following statement, which consists of my own personal opinion and does not claim to state any facts, may contain spoilers. It might also contain milk or wheat products. Low Sodium. Caffeine Free. Sugar Free, sweetened by Splendaâ„¢. PHENYLKETONEURICS: CONTAINS PHENYLALANINE.

Not a significant source of fiber, vitamin A, vitamins B-B12, vitamin C, calcium, carbohydrates, protein, sugars, or other nutrients. Being about robots, however, it does contain 42.2% of the daily reccomended amount of iron. Percent Daily Values are based on a 2,000 calorie diet.

Firstly, the whole thing made fun of Wal-Mart and other "mega-corporations". A single corporation LITERALLY ruled the world, and lead to its' inablility to support life. And the humans in this movie are all fat slobs who float around on hover chairs and stare at screens all day. So this SCREAMS "moral" but I don't watch Pixar movies for lessons on the flaws of society, at least not so blatantly.

And there was this clip from a musical, the name of which I cannot remember, that played all the time. I found this rather annoying after the first two times I heard it.

My personal opinion is that this is a very cute movie, but that doesn't cut it for me. This is not Pixar's greatest work, I prefer The Incredibles and Finding Nemo. On my patent 1-422 scale, with 1 being ungodly awful and 422 being totally effing awesome, I give Wall-E a:

250 out of 422.
Slightly above halfway. An average movie. Not horrible, not great. Just OK.

Oh, and by the way, the Autopilot character is VERY similar to everyone's favorite rogue compuper, HAL 9000, of sci-fi fame. "I'm afraid I can't do that, Dave". I think that was supposed to be obvious, however. There was a point where the Captain makes a demand, and Auto pauses. One might expect him to say "I'm afraid I can't do that", but instead he eventually says "Okay".

Haha... my workplace is a few some blocks away from Pixar... I pass by it every weekday mornings (heading to work) and afternoons (heading home) and there's still a lot of WALL-E ads all over the place. Emeryville's got pride. :D

Going back on subject, I think WALL-E is something different and fresh coming from Pixar. I haven't really seen anything like that before coming from them (not saying I saw the movie already). I was going to take my nephew and niece yesterday to the movies to see this but I had to work overtime, so didn't get to see it.

But yeah, I'd only watch it, simply because it's a new concept that Pixar had produced... breaking away from their usual genres of their 3D-animated films. Man... to think working for Pixar was one of my goals too... =T

Eh, I would classify it as mild satire, not a screaming moral. In a way, it sort of acknowledges the complexities of real life- the passengers aren't villified for their lifestyle; it's all they've ever known.

In fact, you're encouraged to root for the "slobs" just as much as the robots. (And the captain standing to "Also Sprach Zarathustra" was an just as awesome a scene as it was comical, you have to admit.)

I suppose BnL wasn't given good press, but they were backstory. And really, no malice was implied behind their actions, just a lack of foresight. (Though I suppose there was a small dig at Bush in one of the old messages; nothing major, though.)

...

Anyways, who liked Alec Azam, the Orange-Box-playing rabbit?

I thought at first it wasn't going to be anything special. I was watching the previews and thinking to myself, oh no, this could be Pixar's downfall.

But then I saw the movie. And it exceeded every expectation I had for any movie. I was blown away. I cried a lot, I was amused, I was touched, and entertained like no movie has ever made me feel before.

There's nothing wrong with morals in movies. It's not always children who need to be shown something that'll change their attitudes. I took it to heart myself thinking, what's the harm in doing a little more for other people instead of making just my life easier?

The best part of the movie, I believe, is the love story between the two robots. It's not just the standard two people meet, have complications, make up and have great life storyline. And there's so much more to their relationship because they're not human, but they show what love really is without polluting it with human reactions. Yes, I cried for them, but one can't help walking out of that movie feeling great.

It's not as kiddish as you might assume =)
