Sure it needs to have more character development, and deeper characters and storylines but it's not awful.

I agree with Squirrel Boy, Gym Partner need the axe though.

Well, Maybe they are always Either:

A.)Learning about/Catching a new pokemon
B1.)Having Team Rocket steal Pikachu and/or any other pokemon that's there.
B2.) Meowth's crazy ideas that he thinks the boss would enjoy if the boss had that particular pokemon, but I don't think their boss would like 99% of Meowth's ideas.
c.)Having a gym battle/Or May's contest.
D.0They Meet someone new who has a problem (90% of the time, it's a girl that Brock falls in love with, but doesn't feel the same way.)

Personnally, I think They should have an ending episode like an epilogue. Misty and Ash open up about their feelings for one another, try dating, and have a happy ending with May finding someone else.

Anyways, I agree with the person who said that Gym Partner and Squirrel boy need to be axed first. Don't watch it when it comes on, petition against the show, and send a letter to CN asking them to put shows that are awesome, and not for idiots, on.

I think one of the reasons we have so many stupid shows is because it's easy to write silly stuff, but it takes effort to write a smart show with an actual plot.

Also, they know kids will watch silly moronic shows over intelligent programs anyday. Why? Because being smart has had less importance in the past 5 to 10 yrs, at least in the US.

Those who actively seek out smart shows, where you actually need to use your brain, are in the minority.

It's a sad fact.

Personally, I'm glad that nobody has mentioned FLCL. I love that show like crazy. I think that there are a lot of crap shows on AS, which I watch like everyday. But come on, not Inuyasha!
