The first episode of Big O I ever saw was episode 13. I was babysitting and it was on at like midnight, so I was really freaked out. (Thankfully, Lex was alseep on the couch and didn't see the girl in the red cloak murdering people...) I was hooked though! The Big O rocks!

yeah, its a bit, mature for children, for example it has classic music, not "hip" music, and ep13 was kinda violent with RD murdering people

I don't think I've ever seen a non-violent giant robot anime (I suppose the point of giant robots is to fight, and that's why), though Transformers is aimed at a younger audience, so it is pretty mild. Everything else had blood or a heavier theme to it.

Have u ever seen Nadesico? That one is more comedic than serious and the Nadesico ship might remind you of Star Trek or Yamato.

Do you like Zoids? I saw the "first" cartoon (technically the second cartoon, the Liger Zero cartoon) and liked it. Then saw some of the real first cartoon (the Planet Zi cartoon), liked it too but I liked the other one more since it wasnt the usual war stuff mecha usually has but instead was more of a tournament game type.

I loved the Zoids with Bit Cloud and Leena (don't know the series name). The one with Van and Fiona and stuff was just.. ughh. Absolutely loved the one with Bit, though.
