Quoting VSTI because my computer is being weird right now.

My dad and I were just having a convo on the phone about this...I always thought it was gonna be a cobra or something that killed him..not a stingray.

I thought the same thing and made a comment this afternoon after I heard the news
"I really thought that he would of died from a snake bite."

I'm still in some sort of shock because my brain doesn't want to face the facts and everytime I hear his name I think of him smiling with his family, or picking up a snake and saying "Easy girl." Yes very geeky of me.

Sting Rays aren't usually dangerous. I mean unless you threating them REALLY bad. But The poisen didn't kill him, a sting rays barb has at least 18 spines so if that touches you dainty heart....you in trouble.

But I'm surprised it wasn't a Crocodile.

Anyone know when he died? Was it today?

it was yesterday afternoon that this happened..

I am watching the tribute...*wipes tears* this is extremely sad

The stingray's barbs went under his ribcage and pierced his heart...definitely not cool.

i knew he was going to die doing a documentry or somethign of the sourse, but im surprised that he got killed by something so common. Sting-ray bites usually arn't fatal but since his went through the heart and torn skin causing internal bleeding. But his daughters are cute once wnated to be just like him, but now sh emight not.

Dang, he was a good guy. I used to look up to him when I was little (and I sitll kinda do) saying "wow, how can someone be that brave. Man, the death of a childhood hero is something you don't wanna experience.

they do have a poison in that barb...its just usually not dangerous to humans. but its the way it stung him...it got him through the ribs and speared his heart.

his best friend/producer/whatever else he did was on the boat that was with him when it happened, he saw the whole thing..unfortunately...but he said that it probably killed him instantly..I am hoping that is true.

You know..I learned alot from him, not just about animals, but about feelings and life..Alot of people only saw him for his wild animal shows and acts and stuff...but if you watch the Confessions of The Crocodile Hunter, you will see the heart of a true man, Look past the animals, past the cameras, past the crazy adventures, and you will see the heart of a warrior.

the guy that was with him when he died will be on CNN tomorrow night at 8pm Central, for those of you on the East coast, that would be 9pm..for those of you in Mountain Time that would be 7pm, and for those of you in Pacific Time, that would be 6pm. This will definitely clear things up as far as what actually happened.

His friend/manager was with him on the boat when it happened..he will be on CNN tonight, I know I mentioned it in a previous post or whatever, but I am just making sure that yall know that he will be on CNN tonight, at 9pm EST 8pm CST 7pm MST and 6pm PST

The real sad thing about it, is he was shooting a piece for a show which his daughter Bindi was starring in...

I just saw some of the CNN thing...it's so . It's amazing how much his mangager looks like him though...both blond hair, red cheeks, and accents. I thought he was his dad or something!
