I do have a gay friend named Ethan..and he even calls things gay, so I guess its just personal feelings about hearing the word or having it used in a certain way. I dont like hearing it used in that manner..referring to stupid stuff. As I said earlier, Ill just say its stupid or dumb...or I will try to adapt this new phrase its straight, into it.

A long time ago, some guy tried to trick me into spreading a rumor without lying by saying "Are you gay" where I walked away and he tried to convince me he meant happy. How do I know he was trying to spread a stupid rumor about me? I have good senses. People aren't that stupid.

I don't think the term should be used as an insult, as it means happy. Some idiots just came up with the slang term with it.

Ya know, toleration is a two way straight. Tolerate thoughs that are different from you, but you must also tolerate thoughs who refuse to tolerate others.

Really though. People can -say- it just means 'stupid' but think about it for a minute. What does it say about people's subconscious thinking, linking that idea and the word together? My English teacher was talking about this one day. She's like what are you trying to say? That's happy? That's homosexual? Why don't you just say that?

And still I can't go through a whole day without hearing it at least 15 times. I'm like WTF.

I had a talk with Ethan about this topic and he told me that as long as no one uses it in a DIRECT attack, then it doesnt bother most gays much, because they have accepted the fact that the word gay is much more openly used now than it was...although it still can be aggrivating.

I mean, come on, who the heck thought up the word "gay" as a replacment for "homosexual"..great, now I'm being reminded of something my friend said last week or something...anyway, Homosexual=gay?
