Yes they did back then. But they didn't have to worry near as much as they do now about pedophiles. And it was usually to someone who the parents knew very well, not just anyone willing to pay 50k for marriage.

That reminds me of how in the mid-20th century poor people from Southern United States used to marry their teenage sisters or cousins. Except this time they're being advertised on a website by their parents.

This site disgusts me. Married as young as 13? That's pedophilia, which is illegal the last time I checked! And there's the whole Christian thing... this seems like the kind of thing Fred Phelps and his Westboro Baptist Church might do. And all those people reccomending the site all married their daughters off and then got money out of the deal! And the kids must either be pressured and/or coerced into this or brainwashed into thinking it's right. And it IS NOT right.

I really hope this is some kind of joke, and joke or not, someone needs to take a plunger and get this crap out of the Internet tubes.

After reading all the other comments people have made on other websites, I think it's a scam. After all, as they say, the 'testimonials' have been there since the first day the site opened. That, and I wonder if the 'brides' have changed at all. o_o

Anyone ever considered posting an artical about this on a blog or a political site? The internet is one of the best ways to start a pollitical movment. If there is no other news about it in a week, send it to a major civil rights blogger or somthing. My persomal suggestion would be http://atheism.about.com/ (but do be warned, the guy who runs it is a bit obsesive about athist and minority supresion.) because of the heavy religios tones of the site. Also, womens rights group sites mite also want to know about this....
