Hmm. I listen to lots of kinds of music, but that's only because I listen to the radio as my main source of music. I don't have very many specific favorite bands, but here are some that I do enjoy:

Alanis Morissette

Huh. More than I thought. As for genres, I usually describe myself as liking alternative rock, pop and techno. I love anything with a strong rhythm, anything fast paced with a good beat. Anything you might hear at a rave, although I've never ever raved in my life. As for music I don't like, I'm not a fan of country or opera, of metal, rock and roll or hardcore-scream-your-lungs-out-with-makeup-on-your-face-rock, or rap and R&B. However, I've been known to make exceptions.

And I really, really don't like ICP. Detroit goes from the birthplace and home of Motown Sound to... them. Thanks, Metropolitan Detroit. Eminem's OK though.

Oh, and I cannot forget the best video game music ever, Martin O'Donnell and the Halo Soundtrack. (And Halos 2 and 3). Pure awesomeness.

What Angelbolt said. This is also why we advocate using the Search function, which is usually up at the veeerrryyy top of the board (at least, it is in the skin I use. Not sure about any others xD;; )

That being said...

As for my favorite types of music, various sorts of rock come to mind. If it's got good guitaring, consider me hooked. I also like songs that have meanings. My favorite bands/singers are all over the place though, just proving how much different music I listen to xD Avenged Sevenfold, Fall Out Boy, Eiffel 65, Backstreet Boys *runs*, Simple Plan, Sum 41, a little Eminem (at least, older stuff), 3 Doors Down, and Gorillaz are all up there on my favorites. I've also got different songs from other musicians, like Lazlo Bane, Remy Zero, Self, and Sarah Mclachlan, among other assortments. Oh, and I also ADORE absolutely anything by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

And of course, the Subdigitals ;P xDD

And amending that to add Muse, Metallica, and Saliva as well *nod*

I just have not listened to the Naked Brothers Band because it is something that is entirely Disney or Nickelodeon or whatever, and there's no talent.
I think Miley Cyrus is talented, and that her songs are catchy, but I don't know how far she will get after maybe 2 years if that.
I do like The Jonas Brothers. Their lyrics are horrible, but the songs are very catchy.

I love FBR and every band on that label.
Plus the oldies.
I will get into more detail later.

Well reportedly her mother once looked at all her screaming fans at a concert with her and said "someday, this will all be gone." or summat. Also, she went to Sunday School and actually remembers Bible verses (the hardest thing to do at a church. ever.), so her parents are prolly preparing her.

I have to say... that is a weird combination. I can understand all of those bands, but once you put Linkin Park... haha. It's fine though. That's like someone who is into hardcore death metal and then likes the occasional Tracy Chapman.
