It was telepathic. Note the complete lack of mouth movement.

"Sozin's comet" was great, but I wish Ozai had put up a better fight against Avatar Mode Aang, would have made for a more thrilling fight. As it was, Ozai beat the crap out of Aang for a bit, Aang managed to suddenly go Super and then beat the crap out of Ozai in turn. Lazy. Not that seeing the Avatar Mode in action wasn't impressive, though.

And when Zuko and Aang had previously compared lightning redirection to water-bending, was I the only one expecting Katara to redirect Azula's lightning strike? Missed oppertunity there.

It also might have been a god of some sort in animal form (or just a very spiritual animal). Granted Tui and La (the koi fish ) couldn't speak (except through Yue and Aang apparently), but the Owl from the Library could speak in the human tongue.

Hah...I actually kept thinking that Azula was going to spontaneously combust herself, either by just not directing her lightning correctly, or by Katara soaking her with water-bending and then Azula foolishly trying to shoot her down with another lightning strike and electrocuting herself.

Of course, I can kind of understand why neither of those happened...it probably would have been "too violent". ^^;;

All in all though, I though the finale was EPIC and awesome. *giggles* ...Although I really really wish they'd do just one more season. ^.^

Azula is nuts.

Truly freaking nuts. She needs help.

She needs the power of abstract painting.

Actually I don't see her as nuts or insane, but a bit more... human.

All she ever wanted was someone to care for her. The way she acted for some reason clicked to me. It felt familiar, as if it was natural or bound to face in those reactions. It didn't feel "insane" or "out of place" to me.

Do you get what I'm saying?

She can start by dating Sephiroth.

He's on the same level as her, but you don't see Azula killing Aeris.

Azula isn't crazy, she's a genius. She invented blue fire bending. She just got power hungry in the end.

I'd suspect that eventually Azula mellows out; she's not a lost cause, at least.

My theory? Zuko finds Ursa, she gives Azula a big hug, and she gets better in therapy.

I think the responsibility was really too much for Azula, seeing as how she...just went off the deep end, really. She may be human, but because she's human, she just got too paranoid that everyone was going to betray her sooner or later.

I'm not sure if she wanted someone to care for her; she just wanted the recognition for her loyalty to pay off; in the end it did, because of Ozai's order for her to become Fire Lord. I don't know how she felt about Ozai being Phoenix King and all and her still being Fire Lord, though, cuz it was hard to tell what her other feelings were after she started to loose it.

Although when Ursa appeared in the mirror, maybe Azula actually did want someone to care for her. But she just got too paranoid because of her bad roots, I would suspect. Without her trust (as she told Ursa in the mirror, "Trust is for fools. Fear is the only reliable way."), she was bound to get paranoid closer to the end or so. Even with fear, it isn't always guaranteed that people will respect you as a leader just because they fear you.

Eh...it really shouldn't just end here. There are still things they can build off of. It's just the <s>problem</s> question of finding what. Because all the questions actually weren't all answered, which is why most of us are still disappointed, left expecting more answers instead of being content with only the ones given. -_-

One suspects that they left those open to give them something to work off of if the show did get renewed.

We can hope. A "Book 4: Air" set would complete things nicely. On the other hand, it's kinda fitting that the Air tribe (which currently has exactly one member) doesn't get a book of it's own. Presumeably if there ever is a Book 4, the number of Airbenders will be increased somehow, presumeably with Aang's help.

Wonder who'll get pregnant first... Mai, Suki or Katara?

Agreed. I thought Azula would end up like how Zuko couldn't redirect lightning because of his conflict going on within him.

Wow...

I just watched it...

I've seldom seen a better finale for a cartoon series in my life. And I never really followed the show. Heh, I watched like season 1 then caught random episodes in between.

Azula was like crazy awesome. I was dancing around in my chair when she was all breathing fire there :D

You mean plain crazy! I have a copy of the show on my hard drive, and Azula just plain lost it when she were battling the group.
The season finale was awesome! Still, it would have been better if Aang just killed Ozai.
I really gotta fix up this theme

Do you mean by bendingbending, or by genetics...?

Err... Suki, I guess...
Zuko and Mai have bigger concerns than starting a family right now, and Aang's like, 11...

It's been stated that this really was the end of the series... there are no more airbenders, and that people learn their bending from the land they're from. it doesn't have to do with genertic so much...

And the airbenders learned from bison, so...

I guess there's still a chance.

Remember, Star Wars Episode III was stated that it was really the end too and...Yeah, Clone Wars will Probably suck BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT. The point is, Executive Meddling is the most powerful force in the cartoon universe.

So yeah.

Or just a mysterious old man (read: disguised god) with "Get Your Airbending here!" T-Shirt. Maybe Cabbage guy is the secret key to restoring Airbending to the world, I dunno. What am I, the writers?

Eh.

I kinda doubt the storyline would include scientific stuff like genetics, just because the story is set back in ancient times. And...I'm not sure if "Book 4: Air" should be made, because the return of the airbenders might be kinda hard to craft. Although it would definitely be interesting. But the evil would have to return, because there would be a definite problem without the bad guys. :P

Anyway...I decided to gather the dialogue that the lion turtle said, all (or the important stuff) of it, because it was rather hard to understand.

Why? Because I'm very bored right now. -.-

The true mind can weather all the lives and illusions without being lost. The true heart can tough the poison of hatred without being harmed. Since beginningless time, darkness thrives in the void but always yields to purify light.

In the era before the Avatar, we bend not the elements but the energy within ourselves.

To bend another’s energy, your own spirit must be unbendable, or you will be corrupted and destroyed.

I THINK it's right; not totally sure though because it was hard to understand. There was a lot of mumbling, I know that. =P

I thought that if you can bend one's mind, you could also fix something.

Like for instance, Toph's blindness.

I know! Aang is a bald kid version of Jesus!
