;__; You know, even after all this time, its just so....surreal. The Austrailian gov't has offered the family to give Steve Irwin a state funeral.

Yeah...it's kinda incredible...going along with the childhood thing:

Sometimes you can just believe that certain people are invincible. They never shy from danger; they meet resistance head-on. They're people that are caring, loving, and devoted to protecting those people they care about and love. Heroes? Maybe not...but definately an idol of sorts, the type of person that we all want to be in one way or another...

Steve Irwin was a hero and an idol in his own right...

Ive watched him ever since I was very young...Its almost like I new him personally...I loved to watch him, but not only watch him, but learn from him...I used to fear alot of the animals he rescued...but through him, I learned to see them for what they truly were, animals who were important in their own ways.

I still love sting rays..they are beautiful creatures. I have played with sting rays at Aquariums. He just got too close for comfort, and this happened.

He should have just backed off and he would still be here... ;__;

Maybe it was his time to...you know...go. Besides, at least he was with his animals...

By the way, he is the god of all animal freaks. (and I am a huge animal freak) He is my idol now more than ever. To be honest, I didn't watch him that much when I was a kid. I always loved the way he talked though. It makes me laugh. I love his 'criky' and all of that...I say that sometimes even...

he was young, 44...everyone in the animal world respected Steve Irwin, Jack Hannah, Jeff Corwin, they all worked with him at one time or another. Unlike some people who had different on camera personalities, than off camera personalities..Steve Irwin was the same person 24/7, what you saw of him on TV, was how he was off camera. He died doing what he loved...how many people can say that?

I would have also. It would have been awesome to do so. Now everytime I watch a snake show, or any wildlife show, I will think of Steve Irwin, and all that he accomplished.

He was most likely seen as a celebrity rather than a serious zoologist. It's surprising to know that he died. But the way he died isn't surprising. He died in his own law.

Nah, he started some serious conservation organizations, hell..his parents started the Austrailia Zoo in 1970, he has always been into wildlife conservation. His craziness helped him to do it, but he still did it.

Yes he was a celebrity in his own way...but he also did alot of awesome things. I would love to see more celebrities do what he did. I dont think many can follow in his footsteps like that.

As I stated earlier, he died doing what he loved..hell even I cant say that about people I know.

what, the news reports and CNN and stuff?..or Steve's show and all that?

If you are talking about CNN and stuff..so far, they had animal biologists talking about the stingrays, they had John Stainton *who was with Steve Irwin when this happened*, Jeff Corwin, Jack Hannah, and a couple of other people discussing Steve Irwins death.

LOL I thought I was the only one who loved snakes that much other than SI JC and JH.
I learned so much from him and now I know even more than my parents on a lot of those subjects. My dad and I think that he should be burried in the zoo with the animals he cared so much for.

I must admit that I feel sad that he is gone. The only thing I can say is that I am glad that he died doing something he loved. I think that is something we should keep in mind as we enjoy the life we have

Kinda ironic isn't it? ;__; And the worst thing, is that his little daughter was staring in the documentary...

I know more now about animals than I ever did. Its all thanks to people like him, Jeff Corwin, Jack Hannah, and a few others. I also think he should be buried in the zoo with the animals that he loved, rescued, and cared for..I honestly think that Steve would want that.

I thought it was a little harsh on the CNN thing when the guy asked the mangaer when the funeral would be...I mean, Steve had just gone the day before...I'm sure the mangenger didn't even wanna think about it yet...I just thought that was kinda..well...mean.
