Joint crackers

Postby The BB of C » Fri Feb 10, 2006 4:03 pm

I don't even know what to make of all of this. I've got a thing with cracking my knuckles, and my neck, and my toes, and my back, and my ankles, knees, elbows and shoulders. A bunch of people tell me that I'm going to get arthritus at a young age. A bunch of others say not to worry because nothing is going to happen. There are an even number of people on both sides that it simply disgusts them. All the research I've done and it comes out both ways. What do you have on this?

My mom has cracked her knuckles all her life pretty much. The only problem she really has is that her knuckles are kinda big. But that's all. She has minor arthritis, but it doesn't really have anything to do with that. It's mostly in her wrists, not her hands. And that's normal for someone in their mid-50s.
Most of the recent reports I have seen on cracking knuckles shows that it doesn't have any effect on whether or not you get arthiritis. No reason to worry about that. ;)
not gonna bother coming back

I have noticed that the size of my knuckles has increased significantly since I started cracking. Until now I always thought that was because of aging.

Vracking stuff doesn't grow anything. I like to call myself a professional cracker (okay, that sounded strange). :*D

I can crack well over 100 joints in my body (I counted). All the joints in my hand, many in my neck and back, all the joints in my feet, my ankles, wrists, shoulders, elbows, knees, lots.

The cracking sound comes from the fluid in the joints. If you think about it, "How do people think your joints grow from cracking them." Honestly, they don't.
