Eragon, Eldest, Empire, & Christopher Paolini fans come

So the third one's called Empire, eh? I've been hooked on these books since last year. I didn't think Eldest was as good as Eragon, though; he was trying too hard. I think Paolini was reading LOTR at the time, because I caught a couple of straight lines from it. References are good, but he was already walking the line if you ask me...

I liked Eldest better. Who's your favorite character? I like Murtauge (sp?) even if he has his dirty little secret.

Mmm, I liked Murtagh too, but that was part of what I didn't like about Eldest- Eragon's father just seemed kind of "Oh, wait, this is a plot point! Hurry, stick it in!" to me. I think that was part of the reason I didn't like Eldest, that and Eragon and Arya's relationship. I knew it was gonna happen, but... eurgh! Awkward much?

For favorite character, probably Saphira or the dwarf dude.

I absolutely love the Inheritance Trilogy. I liked Eragon better than Eldest, though. Eldest got boring in some places. Some parts were totally focused on Roran for several chapters at a time, and I was like, "I DON'T FREAKING CARE ABOUT RORAN!! I WANT TO HEAR ABOUT ERAGON!!" I felt that Eldest was more of a bridge to fill the gap between the first and third books. Also, the Eragon/Murtagh scene at the end strongly reminded me of Star Wars... Murtagh: Eragon... I am your brother...

Hmm... My favorite character is either Angela or Solembum.

Oh, I forgot about Solembum! He's my favorite character, hands down. There should be more scenes with him, darnit!

And Zaeryth, I agree with you about some of the Roran stuff. Some of it was interesting, but he stuck the scenes in parts where you just didn't care!

I second that. I think Solembum should be a major role in the next book.

Plus, that one little girl (I forget her name) who Eragon supposedly "blessed" scares me. -shudders-

I haven't read Eldest yet! Also, I've read the Acknowledgements (spelling?) in Eragon,
& Christopher got Angela's name from his sister, Angela.

SOLEMBUM! I'LL THIRD THAT!! Her name was Elva. She doesn't scare me because I kidda know what she goes through. I also have a constant erge to help others in need only I'm not punished for disobeying it and I don't have purple eyes or eat as much.

Elva... eh. Elva was interesting for the psychological aspect and the workings of the magic. But she was creepy!

And I just want some more explanation of what Solembum is. He's cool!
