What is the secret to write one? Once I tried to pull out a Code Lyoko fanfic, but I decided not to release it, 'cause it sucked and it was too effed up (one here knows a bit about it). And Ã

Lol, could you edit the cussing out of your post? I know you added asterisks to censor the words, but I would prefer you took them all out. :)

As for the fanfic thing, I think it's just that some people can do it, and it's harder for other people. There's no 'secret' to it... You just have to be in the mood to write, and make sure you're from your heart rather than writing about what you think people are going to want to read. That happens all too often; the reason why there are so many stupid sappy UxY romance fics out there are not entirely because that's what people want to write, but because they know they'll get more attention if they make it look like they could be hired as a writer for Days Of Our Lives. *shrug*

*where's G-Force4 when we need him?*

1. Get an idea to link everything to. There is almost always a central plot or theme behind a story. There are very few people who can make total pointlessness work *coughMontyPythoncough*

2. Make sure the characters do what one would normally expect them to do in the given situation. Either that or make them uttely hilarious.

3. um... what's 3? Oh yes. Remember all those songs from the TV Tome thread "Songs that remind you of Code Lyoko or certain characters? Use one of them to write a songfic. That way, the song sets the pace and maybe the situation. CBIzumi's "Hiro no Tsuki" would be instructive in the style at the very least. I like it as a story in itself, but I'm not sure you would.

THat's all the advice I can think of right now..
My LF family:
Mother: StarWay
FairlyOddSister: CBIzumi
Awesome little sister: Mewberries151
Big sister with whom I often quarrel: Linii-chan
Mad scientist little brother: X1
Favourite cousin: Ransomed_Heart
Keeper of heraldic arms: Doggiegal (actually, I do my own coat of arms now...)

I don't need someone who I heard that he calls himself kinda like "the king of fanfics", or something like that (ask Werwek).

Let me tell you my idea of the CL fanfic I destroyed.

It involved terrorists, airports, fighting, swearing, and things you can expect from me... but the thing that crapped it up was when I wrote that part about Jeremie and Herb tied up in the factory with bombs near to the scanners by some member from a family manipulated by XANA for terrorist intentions... basically, the scanners would have been destroyed. But my intention or goal was to write something that the Lyoko Team could do by saving the world without using the technique of RTTP.

So he's an egotist. We all have our faults. What's important is that he knows what he's doing and he knows how to explain it plainly.

If the central focus is an attack, think through the attack first, from beginning to end, Once that's done, attach all the embellishments you want, be it swearing, fighting, bombs, whatever; that can be added after the story is thought through.

Then flesh it out and write. It sounds easy but it's not. It's challenging to think out and tedious to type out.

Perhaps my vision of CL to not be as a show for those who are 7 years old kinda clouds my mind... maybe not.

Erynn, if you want to, lock this thread. Maybe someday I'll come up with something.

I think there's an element of CL that's for 7 year olds; the fight scenes in Lyoko, the secrets kept from the adults, the almost magical idea that we could upload our conciousness to a new world inside our computers, almost like living in a video game... those are things that appeal to a young audience. But there's another side of CL in my opinion, that deals with pain and fear and love and all of that. That's what many fanfic authors try to capture when they're writing about the show. So to say CL is just for kids, I think you'd be greatly mistaken.

I'll lock the thread now if you want.
