Moving isn't that hard anymore. You can always talk to friends over the phone and internet. Yes, you can't see them much anymore, but you'll find new friends, while still keeping (most of) the old.

It won't be that hard, unless you lived in Florida a very long time. It would be bad to miss your best friends, but they could visit you, or you could take a plane and visit them. Internet and phone will be your help... and Tennesee, you got Erynn and Morgan over there. It's cool to see that you could have the chance to meet them.

I've lived in Florida my entire life. Except for the first two years of my life. I was born in Texas.

I always hate when a dog dies. It means two things:

1. I have to help bury it (digging deep holes in the hot sun is not fun...), and

2. We have to buy another dog to bark at crooks.

The distance around the Equator is about 40 000 km (used to be exactly 40 000 km when the metre was defined as 1/40 000 of the Earth's circumference before they realized that the Earth's circumference wasn't constant enough for them to base a measurement unit on it...), so now we need a conversion factor for kilometres to miles... 1/1.609 comes to mind but I'm not sure... There are online conversion calculators, I could check one of those... Using http://www.onlineconversion.com/length_common.htm, I get 40 000 km to be about 24,855 miles. I also get 1 km to be 0.6213713 mile and 1 mile to be 1.609344 km... close to what I expected! Yay for not being senile! :D

Apart from going to university and going on a work experience programme, I have no experience with moving.

i hope your move to Tennessee (if i didn't spell it correct sorry) is good. i also hope you will make tons of new friends. as for your dog. sorry about him. i hate it when pets die. just remember all the good times you had with your dog. and maybe get another pet.

dont worry about it mate, itll seem hard at first, but dont forget youve always got hte internet and stuff, that makes it easier to cope with moving

when i moved, lol, to be honest i never felt anything at all, i never had any friends to begin with, so i moved into my new place with ease. but thats not the point, just keep it cool and dont mope about, dont act all sad and desperate otherwise you wont be able to make any new friends at all :)

I've moved around a LOT. It sucks. I know the pain. :( But you'll make new friends and new connections... even if you don't believe it can happen now, just trust me that it will!

BTW.... if you're from the north, TN will be a small shock, but not too bad. The accents are funny. You'll have fun with it. :)

Thanks guys!!! Wow this makes me feel better. It's now 3 weeks 'til I move away. And erin, I've lived in Florida but I go to Tennessee like once a year if not twice. I have alot of friends up there already. Just not in the same city I'll be living in. I'm really good at making friends. And I definitely won't mope aroiund and whatever. Thats definitely not me! And why would you think Sam would say that? He's very nice.

1 more piece of bad news. I broke my foot. Now I have a green cast on it. But it's all good. I have awesome friends who help me around school and such. Crutches suck!

Good luck with your preparations, especially considering the bad news you gave us below...

Generally a good attitude that should help on the path to a long life (no guarantees, though...)

Paige wrote: And why would you think Sam would say that? He's very nice.

No, not really, but thanks for thinking so...

Paige wrote: 1 more piece of bad news. I broke my foot. Now I have a green cast on it.

AUGH! Sorry to hear! Especially with such a long drive coming up!

Very good to hear!

Paige wrote: Crutches suck!

That I do know, despite never having broken a bone (which is unusual for a biker...). I have injured my leg, though, to the point where I had to walk with crutches, and then with a stick.

I guess clouds do have silver linings; this one has a silver lining for us! You get to visit! YAY!

OTOH, sorry you didn't get to see your dad...
