Have you had any special or unusual moments in life?

Postby Gauntlet » Wed Mar 28, 2007 10:06 pm

As the title says, have you had any moments or experiences in your life that hold some significance to you? Do some make you smile? Does this one particular memory make you cry? Joyous tears or sad ones? Something you wish you could forget about, but your older sibling always teases you about it? Anything at all?

For those of you who aren't the Terminator, do you care to share your old memories with us? I'll go first.

While I don't particularly remember this one, I'm going to believe it, and if I don't, I'll be forced into watching the evidence myself. When I was a little kid, I don't know, maybe in the 4 to 5 area, I used to be a big fan of Michael Jackson.

Hold off on the pervert jokes, for just one minute.

I used to love listening to his music, and I was pretty hyped about some of his songs, and I even used to dance. The first time I saw Thriller, and I saw the part where he transforms into that werewolf thing, I was freaked out. I didn't cry, or scream, but I clearly remember that face, and I can never forget it. While I was freaked out for about a year, waiting for him to jump out of the window at night, I eventually gave up. I still can't bare to sleep with the curtains open, but I'm not sure if that stems from Thriller or not wanting to wake up to find the gardeners staring at me while I'm dozing.

Now for the good part (for you, anyways). I went to Disneyland with my mother, grandmother, and my brother. Mind you, I was still 4-5, so I enjoyed dancing to the few songs I knew. And, according to my mother, as we were moving from one ride to another, Thriller blasted from the loudspeaker.

Oi. I don't know what possessed me to do so, but apparently, I started dancing to the song. Yep. There was a crowd of about 20 people, she says, cheering me on. Ugh. I can't bring myself to think about it. Furthermore, while I wish that never happened, if I don't believe her, she'll bring out the video *crazed panic*. Fortunately, I prefer to keep (what's left of) my pride and dignity, and just go along with it. In all probability, it most likely happened, but I will never admit to it. Nuh uh, no way.

Enough about that. Does anyone have anything else to contribute? I'd love to hear what other people have to say, even if they aren't the happiest of memories.

Also, yes, you may start with the pervert/pedophile jokes, and no, I will not host the video on any site, so don't ask.

Hey, don't worry. M.J was the GOD of Kick-ace 80's dance music. ^_^ No jokes from me...

There are far too many such moments for me to count. Alot of them are privite, since they deal with my romantic life. However, there is something that will always hold a strong significance for me.
The day my cousin Carly was born.
Her mom, my cousin Julie, has not made the best choices in the world, to say the least. However, now in her late twenties, she's trying to turn her life around. Why? Because of Carly, and her 9 year old son, Alex (the manic munchkin, as I like to call him. ^_^)
Before Carly was born, Julie had been fading back into her former ways, despite her young son. However, once Carly was born, she has been striving to make a life for herself.
Carly is now almost three. She's cute and loud and blond and sweet, and will talk to anyone.
It just shows how strong a bond between mother and daughter is. And even though I don't plan on having children for a loooooooooooooooooooooooong time, if at all, I won't let my self become slack and lazy. I just have to see how hard julie is working. It's very inspiring.
Ok...I'll shut up now....

That is very inspiring. A lot of people see children as underdeveloped humans, which is kind of sad considering how beautiful most of them are. I'm glad your cousin Julie is doing alright now, and I hope things continue to stay that way.

That sounds nice; is there anything in particular that makes you happy?

Come on, we need more people to post! I sacrifice my dignity so aaaalllllll of you can laugh at me, and I get nothing in return? Ouch...my pride.

Seriously though, no one else feels like sharing anything? It seems like hardly any of you bother to leave BKO, and those who don't have access ignore the General forum. Give me a hand here?

The guy I love lives in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; so my mom and her fiancé took me there two months just for the sake of sentimentality. Of course we didn't see Matthew...oh well...

When I got there, it was like something out of a dream. This will sound corny, but...it really changed my life. I took home a dime from the steps of the capitol building. It's the most important thing I own.

Aw, this is a great topic!!!! (I would have posted a reply sooner but I've been gone all day D:)

Well, I have to say that my most special moment was the day I got married *_* lol. It happened exactly how I wanted it to-- at the Justice of the Peace with just my 2 witnesses.. my mom and my best friend.

Other special moments:
- The day my husband got back from a 9 month deployment to Afghanistan
- My 22 birthday... all my college friends held a party for me at this nice bar we usually headed out to, and some of my friends drove from my home town came to attend :3
- Meeting Jamey Jasta, lead singer of Hatebreed, one of my favorite bands
- Seeing my MOST favorite band, The Dillinger Escape Plan in concert, and almost getting guitar-punched in the mouth by their amazing lead guitarist
- Becoming a radio DJ and eventually Music Director at my college station... great to be able to become a big part of something you've always worked hard to support ^^
- Being awarded an Outstanding Achievement Award at my workplace for all the help and work I've done for the MWR program for the US Army. (We work for the Soldiers to improve their lives and make them happy :))

Didn't expect to see this thread resurface, but at least it came back with taste. Unfortunately, I don't think any of my personal experiences can top much (based on how they matter to me, that is), so I'm probably stuck with things like "I unbent a bendy straw, dur!"

Needless to say, I haven't explored life too much. The one I listed earlier...doesn't even matter because I hardly remember it. Haha...makes me realize how bland my life is. *shot of alcohol*

Anyways, glad to hear some pleasant memories.

In Science, we were doing a lab, and my lab partner and I started singing
"John-Jacob-Jingleheimer-Shmidt"...and I said..."Is it Smith or Shmidt?" Wilhelmina said that she
didn't know....but only after mumbling "Who has that name anyway?" under her breath.

Then, later when I got home and checked my E-mails..
Ben, who doesn't know my lab partner or go to my school, sent me a message
with the topic "Is it Smith or Shmidt?"

If you are unaware(and you most likely are...), Ben is the guy I love, and was my only friend the
half school year I had to spend a Horton because I moved, as a new kid.
I ended up going to the regular High School everyone else goes to, but he went to the Charter
School...I was depressed that whole summer
If you go to the Charter School, you have to take Drivers Ed at NHS...and that is how
I obtained his e-mail address...and could now talk to him again....
He keeps saying I need to go to the Charter School but my parents say I can't.

...but he loves this girl named emma. So I don't know why he bothers to keep asking me
to go there. He even wrote her a song....
and he just wrote her another song, today.
He ended the e-mail with
"...for her."
I don't like being jealous, and I try not to be....but...
and it makes me sick...

but he confuses me...
he tells me that I am pretty and stuff...but then he always goes and talks about her....
....he said she was gone or something too...but
I dunno....:whatever:

but anyway...
That E-mail was weird...
there was no way he could have known we were talking about that...
AND IT WAS SUCH A RANDOM SUBJECT
that hardly anyone would think about it...
IT WAS WEIRD....

and I'm sorry I changed the subject half-way through and started babbling.....
THAT STUFF BELONGS IN rant.....and I've posted similar things before, but
I couldn't help myself....
;__;

I like to go to Orlando and/or any place during the summer. It makes me happy, along with listening to 1990s alternative rock and ska punk.

-Seeing my mom on the hospital back in 1997 after 9 months of not being able to see her.
-Graduation from high school and Prom Dance (Final day I'd ever see my former high-school buddies).
-Virginity loss.
-Every chance I had to travel outside Lima.
-A few certain days at Lyoko Freak and 6 Star Wrestling.
-Visit Macchu Picchu and Christ Redeemer and being able to say I visited two of the new 7 wonders. Quite an acheivement for me, I guess.

There's more to say....

Umm... The day my friend conqured his fear of the girl's bathroom and came in to talk to me when I was feeling sad and crying.

The day I got tricked into telling my crush I liked him in first grade (And I still do... Last time I talked to him it was practicing for a french project... and I could barely look at him.)

The time I accidentally unconsciously lied to a teacher about my story I worked very hard on to keep from reading it out in the hallway to my crush (A different one) because I was (am) too shy to talk to him

The day said crushes sister kept poking me in the stomach and WOULDN'T QUIT.
