The creator says he doesn't glorify the school shootings, but he made the game anyways. What for? When you beat the game, apparently, you're "rewarded" with graphic pictures of the shooters, as if that makes the game okay.
Nah. It seems really tasteless, shallow, and insensitive. Just because someone can do something (freedom of speech), doesn't mean it's right. Generally, I'm the guy who's against soccer moms. Y'know, the kind that band together to get rid of Mortal Kombat, or violent games, when the problem is really how they raise them (and yes, this is not the case in everything. Some parents cannot afford to spend time with their children, due to work or the like, and thus, they usually purchase video games to compensate). This is one of those things, though, that I agree with; it should never have been placed on the market.
I'm pretty sure this guy knew the game would create controversy. I'm pretty sure he just wanted to push some buttons. And, I'm pretty sure that, in his own mind, rewarding the player with graphic photos of the killers would be some kind magical twist that make the game alright. I really don't know what he was thinking; I don't claim that he's an evil person, but I believe he didn't think it all through, and his thinking is a tad warped.
By the way, I'm not directing this towards you, Vodka.

In general he designed the game to help people like that realize that it shouldn't be done.

That...hardly makes sense. I don't really know what to say.
So, basically, kids who play this game, which consists of shooting students, shouldn't shoot up a school becausebecause they see the corpses of the shooters? That is such a load, I'm not even sure where to begin.
They hardly take this thing seriously, if you ask me. Just the very fact that you have to play through hell, find dead celebrities and cartoon characters (Mega Man and Bart Simpson to name a few), sounds like this guy is just trying to cover up his act. What exactly is he trying to prove?
You go through hell and reenact Doom, something the shooters were obsessed with. They're coded in to be excited they're apart of the Doom world. You see cartoon characters, video game characters, and celebrities in Hell on the "Isle of Lost Souls". You have to kill Satan, a direct copy and paste from South Park, then they are granted a dragon to find the Satanic Bible, and you win.
I agree, Gauntlet. Since I'm a Christian to the core, those levels really disturbed me... And seeing the bloodsoaked corpses of Harris and Klebold, far from stopping kids shooting up schools, actually makes it worse, for some of the sicker ones... For reasons you can probably guess...
That is hardly trying to convince people that a school shooting is not a good idea. They're making a deliberate joke out of the school shooting; he only tried to salvage what was left of his dignity by showing their dead bodies, in hopes that people would stop hating him. If you honestly think a game like this, a joke, would make kids realize how horrible a school shooting is, you're out of your gourd. You really think that they'll care whether or not they're bullet-ridden corpses are featured in a freeware game?
It's a ridiculous argument, my friend.

S'ok, happens. I would hope everyone, even those that are not Christian, would be disturbed by those pictures.
Anyways, just to keep on topic, I'll restate what I said: No, I have not played the game.

Wussy!
Anyways, I want the link to it and depending on how much the file weights, I'll download and play.
This game's no different that the other parodies about other events, why complain about it? Anyways, I don't care if this event gets made fun of. Anything can get parodied on these days.
StepManiaxX UNLIMITED wrote:It may sound weird, but the creator of the game has very valid reasons for creating the game. Columbine is not parodied in any way over the course of the game.
This game takes a very serious overlook at the events of the Columbine massacre, and never parodies it at all. If you need proof that this is NOT the satirical parody you believe it to be, actually play, AND COMPLETE the game!
Also, there are several interviews with the creator of the game, Danny Ledonne, where he shares his completely valid reasons for creating the game.
Read/watch these BEFORE you bash the game!!

Please, please, please don't regard this game morally wrong just from the title!
