yeah I watched it on Demand the other day, but the concept of the show should call for slightly mor violence. But it is still pretty cool.

I saw it before CL on Cartoon Network on Saturday. I didn't really like it.

I really like the animation style (cel-shaded, I think it's called?).
Pretty interesting so far, but some of the character voices get on my nerves a little. :*D

It definately has potential, and I love the show, not to mention it does have more violence then most shows on Cartoon Network, so those are some plusses. However, it does have some downsides:

1) Unclear pairings. Come on, CN, we on Deviantart and FF.net don't want a repeat of Avatar: Too many OC's and source of one of the largest shipping wars on the net.
2) They re-use some character designs a few times. I swear, I've seen the same chick three times.
3) Lord Cyclonus? That's a chick. No doubt about it. Unless he's like Haku from Naruto...
4) There is only one Cyclonus for me, and that's the one from the show Transformers Armada. He turned into a heavily armed battle copter, and he just kicked lots of @$$. Sure, he was a bit of an incompetant goofball, but I love him anyway.

But I think the plus side of having a good "Adventure" type show on CN (UNLIKE their more comedy-based cartoons) and the good qualities of it more then outweigh the downsides.

Parm was... comical, and...

I forgot the dragon booster's name...
And Beau was awesome too.

I like this show, personally. Not nearly as much as I love dear CL but certainly up there. I usually don't like computer animated cartoons, even if they imitate traditional looks like cel-shading, (in fact, I like the traditionally-animated portions of CL more than the 3D action scenes) but Storm Hawks really sat well with me. I don't think any of the characters are particularly annoying, although I do find it somewhat bothersome that Master Cyclonis, a girl, has to be referred to as "master" when we have a perfectly good female alternative ("mistress") to call her by. It just seems like poor writing to me. But I give it a thumbs-up. By the way, I know from a very reliable source that Finn is actually Odd's alter-ego from the future. But you didn't hear it from me!

...or not.

I've seen this show once, and I didn't like it. 3-D animation didn't look as sharp as Code Lyoko.
thank you all for the good memories <3

Eh, I think it is mediocre at best. There was this one episode where they used the same animation 3 times in around 10 minutes

Yeah....

it's okay. but it just seems like another Dragon Booster. Not quite the right mix of comedy and story.

I still say it needs more dragons.

Saw it yesterday - honestly not sure - it LOOKS amazing - if they refine the technique a bit then the potential for some really dynamic and fluid animation is massive.

Story-wise, since I only caught a few minutes, it seems less secure - that said, it did get my imagination pumping, so maybe that redeems it a bit (time to go research Storm Hawks...and by research, I mean search wikipedia for it XD ).

I caught Best Friends Forever and loved the show since. It's pretty good for a boys action show, but I enjoy seeing the characters more than watching the action.

Tangent128 wrote:Could somebody explain the plot to me? Too busy to check it out anytime soon.

In a nutshell, the Storm Hawks are one of the squadrons in Atmos who fly around helping others and stopping the Cyclonians from their sinister plans (mainly the latter). However, noone takes them seriously since they're all pretty young, and some may even consider them a disgrace to the original Storm Hawks (a famous squadron killed long ago when they destroyed the old Cyclonian empire). The main characters are:

Aerrow - Sky Knight of the Storm Hawks
Radarr (furry pet thing) - Aerrow's co-pilot
Piper - Tactical plans, navigator, and cystral specialist
Finn - Wing-man and snipper
Junko (Wallop) - Mechanic and heavy ballistics
Stork (Merb) - Gadget specialist and pilot of the Condor

Master Cyclonis - Leader of the Cyclonians and Expert with Crystals
Dark Ace - Infamous unbeatable champion of Master Cyclonis and leader of the Cyclonian Talons

I really don't like the show. Seriously, the plot has been done a hundred times before, and the 3d effects are far below what I would like it to be.
Really... if you refer to other shows (like Star trek) the plots been done.
Some people would call me a nerd over the internet.
Then I would ask them what they were doing here.

If that was the case, people should have stopped writing, making movies, or working in other crafts years ago because, surely, someone else had "done it before".

Harry Potter, for instance, deals with a prodigal young man going through a spiritual journey in order to kill this all-awesome evil figure (correct me if I'm wrong, HP fans). It sounds utterly boring, but it's made billions and has a huge cult following--compare her work with an amateur's fiction that follows the exact same setup (or even authors who have used that kind of plot before her).

See what I mean? It doesn't matter if the plot has been used before, or beaten to death; the (script)writer/filmmaker is what makes it unique and innovative. All the same, a bad one can just make Storm Hawks into "another one of those shows".

As for Storm Hawks, I haven't seen it yet. I don't want TV all that often, so I'll probably never catch it, but it does look a bit interesting.

IMO, be it original or unoriginal, the plot doesn't make a show, it's the characters and how they're balanced.
