I have a strong distaste for Tay Zonday after clicking on his "The Only Way" video on YouTube. I don't really care about "Chocolate Rain", but after hearing it twice, I never want to hear it again (not that I hate it, I just don't care for it).

"The Only Way" really got under my skin in more than one way. His description, before he made it subscriber-only viewable, was saying that it wasn't a brag track. So, whatever. He said it has "deep lyrical symbolism", but I don't see any at all, and it seems really arrogant to claim your work has some kind of deep symbolism (if someone else can tell you that, then go ahead, call it that). He also made sure to mention that it's his most "selfless song I've ever written", like we're supposed to see what a great person he is. The song has a terrible chorus and shallow lyrics.

He's full of it. If he actually looked like he was 12 instead of being 25 years old, he would be something special, and I'd actually like him. After hearing his new song, reading the description, and seeing some live performances via YouTube, I've come a conclusion: he's not all he thinks he's cranked up to be, and needs to get his head out of his--...

I think he was first "discovered" a few months ago?
I read people talking about it on 4chan for awhile... so much he was just about turned into an internet meme... He even found out about it and posted a "public letter" thanking his supporters and saying whatever to his non-supporters.

That song proves he's a crock of s**t and his lyrics makes no sense to me.

I thought the only reason he **pulled away from the mic to breath was for his voice? Though, if he was younger, that'd make sense; if he's 25, I could see that being his real voice. With a little bit of practice, he might be comparable to Don LaFontaine--he certainly has a voice that could work for some movie trailers, though not to the extent that LaFontaine has mastered.

I like this version of "Chocolate Rain" a little more bearable, though not by much.
