1954: U.S. overthrows democratically-elected President Arbenz of Guatemala. 200,000 civilians killed.
1963: U.S. backs assassination of South Vietnamese President Diem.
1963-1975: American military kills 4 million people in Southeast Asia.
September 11, 1973: U.S. stages coup in Chile. Democratically-elected President Salvador Allende assassinated. Dictator Augusto Pinochet installed. 5,000 Chileans murdered.
1977: U.S. backs military rulers of El Salvador. 70,000 Salvadorans and four American nuns killed.
1980s: U.S. trains Osama bin Laden and fellow terrorists to kill Soviets. CIA gives them $3 billion.
1981: Reagan administration trains and funds "contras." 30,000 Nicaraguans die.
1982: U.S. provides billions of dollars in aid to Saddam Hussein for weapons to kill Iranians.
1983: The White House secretly gives Iran weapons to kill Iraqis.
1989: CIA agent Manuel Noriega (also serving as President of Panama) disobeys orders from Washington. U.S. invades Panama and removes Noriega. 3,000 Panamanian civilian casualties.
1990: Iraq invades Kuwait with weapons from U.S.
1991: U.S. enters Iraq. Bush reinstates dictator of Kuwait.
1998: Clinton bombs "weapons factory" in Sudan. Factory turns out to be making aspirin.
1991 to present: American planes bomb Iraq on a weekly basis. U.N. estimates 500,000 Iraqi children die from bombing and sanctions.
2000-2001: U.S. gives Taliban-ruled Afghanistan $245 million in "aid."
September 11th, 2001: Osama bin Laden uses his expert CIA training to murder 3,000 people.

And everyone knows about the rest.

I know your all thinking, "And your point is?", but I just wanted to put in some insight on what the greatest country on the planet is doing to other places in the world. I know it all isn't completely uncalled for, but still, come on. Of course I still support America, but this just makes me wonder what kind of Democracy we really are.

I am really glad to live in this country, but there are so many things wrong with it still... The war in Iraq is less of a war and more of a massacre. All of the civilians that have died after Saddam's reign totals up to more than he killed, last I remember reading. It's still a ludicrous amount of blood that he's shed because of the war.

I like to toss around conspiracy theories, but I don't think all of them are real. I do think the Iraq-US war is wrong and unnecessary. It's sad how this war has played down death; bombings in Iraq don't make a very big segment on the news, and are usually ignored, whether they are soldiers or civilians. Nobody seems to care about human life anymore, and they seem to hate Arabs even more now. I've found at least three videos where the description is "haha dumbass terrorist Arab blew himself up! must watch!", or something similar, on the internet. It's revolting how they use his race in such a derogatory sense.

Bush promised the safety of our country, and also assured us that he'd free the country from Saddam's tyranny. Now he's just milking oil and not...doing much of anything in Iraq anymore, except making it worse. I'm not anti-American, simply anti-war. People will deny that the Bush administration is reckless, of course... but what can you do?

What's really scary is when you start digging in to the history of all the super-conglomerates like General Motors and Bell (the electric/communications company) and the news agencies here in America. You start to realize that hundreds of known companies are all owned by just a handful of super-powerful corporations. What's really scary is when you find out that this handful of companies that now completely controls the American economy were all started by Nazi supporters who escaped to America and stayed inconspicuous after WWII. They are dangerously powerful because they have absolute control of the money and can thus manipulate the government. For example, they can cause the value of the dollar to drop and inflate the entire market by flooding it with cash, starting a second Great Depression. Benjamin Franklin once said that a national bank would be the greatest threat to democracy because of this power. Today we call that the National reserve, and contrary to popular belief, it's not a government institution. It's a privately owned organization. I bet you that none of you knew that America narrowly missed a coup d'etat in 1934 that was backed by wealthy aristocrats with self-interest in mind. You can read about it here if you want: http://www.claytoncramer.com/amcoup.html
I first read about it in a book with way better sources and documentation, but this was all I could find on google.

Anyone ever see the movie Manchurian Candidate? You wonder why Busch won the election even though Al Gore got all the votes? They rigged the election to instate someone who would conform to their goals. A real Ivy league Skull and Bones man. They can't have someone like Gore messing up the oil industry with measures to stop global warming. Secret societies and totalitarianism disguised as democracy. It's scary how close all the crazy conspiracy theorists get to the truth by sheer accident sometimes. Busch knew about 9/11 nine months in advance and instead of stopping it they used it to their advantage. Now America have a serious foothold in the Middle East. Then there's the whole oil-issue... I love America for what it stands for, but our government stopped being American a long time ago.

I'm done ranting. That felt good :D

We can't do anything. I'm not a friggin' politician. I'm just exerting my freedom of speech. All the information I posted was things I learned in my old U.S. History class back in high school, and the Internet.

Well since our votes don't count worth a d*mn, we will have to turn to online anarchy. If we could just educate enough people, then when our generation becomes politicians, we could change things. Too bad no one wants to listen to a bunch of conspiracy crackpots.

Bleh....As a nation we have screwed up royally, that's for sure, but I think I understand why we're currently in Iraq. Now, I think We missed the nation who's mostly funding these terrorists by one letter, But If we get out now, the terrorists will come right back in unlesss we do something about Iran (Not neccesarily occupying the country). Plus, the radical Islamic terrorists will laugh at their "Great Satan" leaving in withdrawal and be encouraged to attack even more. And to the people who want to get out immediately, do you know what happens when the US leaves a country in the middle of conflict? mass killing of civilians who at least tolerated our presence. It happened in Vietnam, and it could happen here.

EDIT: oh, and Zex, it's not the amount of popular votes that make an election, it's the amount of electoral votes which decides the winner. remember in your history lessons the Conneticut Compromise?

And yes, there are always Wackos in every country that want a coup. Meh.

Do you have any proof that Corpoate America is backed by ex-Nazis? Don't forget, there is a Conspiracy theory that Iraq had invisibility inducing technology and simply turned their nukes invisible. Ever Heard of the Cabbage Patch Kid Conspiracy? Or the Hollow Earht Conspiracy? Surely you know of The Tim Hortons Conspiracy.

The moral of the story is conspiracy theories can also be made up by crazed hobos in minneapolis who want nickels and attention, so don't take everything at face value.

Maybe. THe cabbage patch Conspiracy says that The dolls are made to look like humans after beign exposed to radiation from a nuke, or summat.

ANYWAYZ, These actions are brought outta the original context. If my memory doesn't totally flip out, weren't quite a bit of these actions in the Cold War?

Just look up the Cold War's timeline, and you'll have your answer.

I never knew that you can become an undercover agent just by watching Bowling for Columbine.

I guess I must be a super duper agent because I have to research and branch topics off of the movie.

We find out about this stuff by reading conspiracy books and watching documentaries on History Channel and NOVA. As for Watergate, everyone knows about that. That's the staple of conspiracies.

Okay, It says in this book I have next to me the Cold war was 1947-1991. This is why I'm not too fond of the CIA.

What semi-intellectual 9 year old hasn't heard of Watergate. Just becaus Richard Nixon was corrupt (and mentally overstressed, if you do some research) doesn't mean every little conspiracy theory has a credible source.
