I am as we speak, writing a mythology paper for class. I have to do a hero myth and I'm basing my hero much off Captain Planet's storyline and characters.

I have to admit. I love this show, and I give 100 dollars to see it return in some way shape or form. Sure it's was kinda campy and maybe lame but theres just so much to love with it.

I'm not quite sure how Captain Planet is considered a mythological character. Either your teacher is speaking metaphorically or is extremely broad on what (s)he considered mythology. When I hear mythology I think Odysseus,Hades,Zeus,Ares,Jason ; Greek & Roman Mythology in general. That or the interesting field of Japanese or Mayan Mythology.

Captain Planet was a bit before my time. I watched a rerun of it once and don't remember having a strong opinion about it, although I never watched it again.

I saw it at 6 AM on Cartoon Network when I was maybe five or six.

...

The only thing it really did for me was make me wonder why Captian Planet's skin was blue/green/whatever. Earth colors? Maybe.

I had to create my own mythological hero, and just for the occasion I wrote the origin story to my super hero Rob "The Elemental" Duggan, the son of Captain Planet.

I watched this show when I was like 5. It was awesome!

Captain Planet, he's our hero, he's gonna take pollution down to zero.
(Isnt that how the song goes? I forgot, I havent watched it in along time.)

It says on Wikipedia that there is going to be a live-action movie like in 2009 of CP

Yep, and the consequences: Captain Planet will kill you if you hurt the planet.

Oh my gosh, I loved this show. I liked the kid with the "Fire" ring. But I like fire, so that's to be expected. I'd probably be able to appreciate it more now...
