Hurricane Dolly: A View in the Storm **UPDATE 4

Postby Aceilikeeggs » Wed Jul 23, 2008 2:47 am

So yeah, Ace reporting!

Residing here in Mcallen has always been a peaceful life, and has always had it's share of missed hurricane's.

But not today. It's Dolly's time to bring the hurt.

It's a bit hyped on the weather, but seriously. It won't be THAT bad. We're gonna sit outside and watch the rain.

CURRENTLY: It's right outside of Brownsville, and has possibly made landfall....I think :P

But I suspect nothing TOO serious will happen. Meh, it's a 1.

But I'll keep you all informed, just for the cuddlemuffins of it.

Reporting Live, at 1:49,

Ace

EDIT:2

It is currently 6:05 as I'm typing this, and Dolly is now a confirmed Category 2 hurricane, reaching speeds of 8 miles per hour, whic means lower pressure, and more damage.

It's still pretty neutral and it's calm here, although it is expected to make most landfall by midday.

Things are going well, though. Waters expected to reach a little over 2 inches. Nothin' bad.

Reporting live,

Ace

EDIT 3:
*****

Yeah, yeah, nothing special now. Port Isabel is pretty owned and it's drizzling mildly here in Mcallen.

Muffins are gonna hit the fan REEEAAAL soon. But things are still going pretty well. It's really cold, though. Waters expected to reach up to 11 inches. Brr..

Reporting Live at 9:19,

Ace

So... where is this?

And I'm a little sure what this is about... but not really. But still... Hurricanes sound cool.

But I know 8 mph isn't hurricane winds... do you mean it's 8 on the edge where you are or 80 MPH?

Hurricanes are only cool if you ARENT in one. ;) Take it from a Louisianian who has been through too many. I lived through Katrina and Rita, still feeling the effects here.

No... I live in Tampa. The Florida one... In America..

And two hours after that post, I realized we were getting hit with the back end of a hurricane, too. So my mom and I had to scramble getting everything inside and the car in the garage... Wheeeeeeee... I never had to deal with that up north!

Yarg.

It's currently 5:21 and we lucked out again. Srsly.

The Eye of the Storm was RIGHT THERE, and then it went up.

And for those who posted, Grasci :D

I'm in.......Mcallen, Texas, which means I'm in the little peak at the bottom, so we're like, SOUTH south Texas. Brownsvillle got owned already though, as well as Port Isabel. It's just sorta windy, and two of our little trees are down.

Doing pretty well though.

As for the 8 mph, that's old news. That was just the speed it was coming up with.

It's already made landfall, and it's slowed down, but things are going pretty well.
I'll post a little minimap later.

***and yes, hurricanes are VERY cool :P
