...are a buncha filthy thieving wannabes.

I apologize if I have no way of proving this, but if you happen to catch the end of the same episode I saw, you'll realize it's true. This French cartoon, which is CGI and not "Franime" due to wacky, Jimmy Neutron-like American-esque characters, actually had the gall to just go ahead and blatantly (and probably legally, but we don't talk about that!) steal some background music from Code Lyoko. It's true. I don't keep up with the show but I saw a scene where the camera "swoops" into a long blue tunnel and we hear the "clicking" music from Lyoko. Also, the blue-haired kid (male) sounds suspiciously like Odd sometimes. Does he have the same voice actor? I don't know, nor will I intend to find out in case it makes me less angry.

I happen to like the show. And no, the blue-haired kid isn't voiced by Matt Gezcy (or whatever his name is).

Any show that winds up on [distorted announcer voice]JETIX![/distorted announcer voice] is no friend of mine by default.

Marathon needs to stick to what it's good at: propagating creepy fetishes through Totally Spies!.
My SN is spelled Feld, not Field. Keep getting it right, Carth.

Oban Star-Racers is great. And has considerable imput from Thomas Romain.

Unfortunately, it's only on at twelve at night and one-thirty in the morning. C'est la vie.

The fact that I didn't notice any of that when the show was actually airing saddens me.

Be that as it may, I whole-heartedly approve of this idea.

I don't really like the show.

My younger brothers who are twins, Rai-Rai and Ryan who are 6, love it. I've watched it with them once and I basically fell asleep.
That was the first time since I watched Jetix in a long time and it has seriously disappointed me.

Whatever happened to JETIX when they used to play W.I.T.C.H and stuff like that...
(Yes, yes, WITCH is a chick show, but it was good and I did enjoy it alot.)

Rai-Rai and Ryan are in love with the show. Gino! When I came home yesterday from school, they went up to me and asked if I wanted to play Sam or something like that.

I just realized they're even bigger thieves than I previously thought!

There's a nerd named Jeremy among their ranks.

Not to mention that fundamentally they're a rip-off of the Ghost Busters.

They must be stopped! :cussout:

You played didn't you?

On the other note, I was watching this show last night with Rai-Rai since he begged me to. And since Ryan fell asleep and so did my retarded cousin, XMenOfLyoko. I had no choice.
While watching it, I noticed that the characters do their "busting" in a secret which like the characters in CL doing their thing. Also, the busting team meet up at a place which is like the Lyoko Warriors going to the factory.

Freakin unoriginal idiots!

It is unoriginal..
All they did was change the plot around and the characters and the plotline...
And although there are some key differences, Marathon has simply rewrote Lyoko.

(I think my younger brother begged me to watch one episode, I left the room after 5-10 minutes to go on LF)
I really gotta fix up this theme

You can also do an almost-direct character match up!

Here are the CL kids and their less-than-charming MBC counterparts:

Sam: Yumi
Danny: Odd
Chris: Ulrich
Cathy: Aelita
Jeremy: Jeremie

That last one is just freakin' unfrogivable.

It was better with the Teen Titans:

Robin: Ulrich
Raven: Yumi
Starfire: Aelita
Beast Boy: Odd
Cyborg: Jeremie

But in this case the show was awesome and not a rip-off of CL. So they are forgiven.

Except for Teen Titans. That show was awesome! I still want to know why Terra doesn't remember having powers or being titan....

Sorry I keep posting on my own thread so much, but I watched the show yesterday (to gather information on the enemy, of course) and realized something that simply must be said. Notice how the kids on the show operate. The Monster Buster Club hunts and fights aliens that come to Earth. However, the kid that started the whole operation, Cathy, is an alien herself, and everyone (well, the main kids anyway) know this. However, she still supports the destruction of other aliens on Earth that are different from her, which are all labeled "monsters" apparently, all in the name of protecting the most common intelligent species on Earth, humans. All of this is seen as a good thing. Thus, I conclude the inevitable:

Cathy is a racial supremacist and the MBC is the interplanetary equivalent of the Klan.

It's sad but true. And we thought plundering from our pet show was bad.

ginolyoko12 wrote:I still want to know why Terra doesn't remember having powers or being titan....

I think she remembers, but just decided that life would be better off without the pressures that she had before, like accidentally hurting people with her uncontrollable powers and even the psycho stage that she went through. I think she forsakes her powers and her past and just wants to live normally. But that's just me. I don't know what happened in the comics. (I think she was a clone, Terra II, there, actually)

I just realized this as I was coming home today.
You can also do a matchup of the locations.
The clubhouse in the backyard- the Factory.
The school- Kadic
I'm sure there's more, but I need to gather more info first.

As a small input for the music, I could SWEAR I keep hearing some of the Code Lyoko songs somewhere as a base to several songs in the media. Most in commercials, but just... wow. I have memorized all the notes and sounds, and not eve pitch-changes can fool me! It's just the slowed down versions of the songs at times.

But I remember there was another show, I believe it was on Jetix, about this group of kids who went into this virtual universe to fight monsters and solve puzzles and had to go through this old factory thing... It was kind of like CL meets Power Rangers. Except not good.

Could you try to find that show you can't remember? If you can at least provide a name, we could potentially compare notes.

That was on Cartoon Network, I think. I remember because it was the first, if not ONE of the first live-action shows on Cartoon Network. I never really liked the show too much either. It was too much like Power Rangers. Comparing it to Code: Lyoko would be like complimenting the show.

EVERY season of Power Rangers was exceptionally horrible. I watched an episode from at least 3 seasons on my brother's request, and you can see it is a horribly put-together show.
MBC (using the abbreviations for less puking) isn't as horrible, but still, with the almost-direct comparisons and the music, it's a ripoff.

Digimon was a rip-off of Pokemon, and I personally think it did better.

Now, I'm not gonna say that MBC is better than CL; CL holds too many memories through this forum, through fanfiction, and other means for it to be less than MBC. CL helped me grow up.

MBC is a good show in its own way. Yes, there are parts that seem to parody CL, but honestly, if you watch it with an open mind, it's not half bad. I likeit, personally.

dude outside of kids having Monster partners, the two are nothing alike.

And inadditon, Digimon's anime had a MUCH stronger plot then Pokemon ever did. Digimon had grand battles of Good vs Evil. Pokemon just shills shit for kids to buy up.
