A short(and sorta scary) story By Boss Tamsy

It was Monday night in a little Pennsylvania town. The clock atop the local church had just struck nine. A bus pulled in at the local convenience store. It's doors slid open to drop off its one passenger. The passenger in question was a boy, roughly in his late teens. In one hand he held a drooping gymbag, and the other hand was empty. Having got off the bus, he looked to his left, and proceeded to walk in that direction. He continued walking until he was paralel to a gas station. He then turned towards it, looked both ways across the street, and then crossed it and entered the station. Once inside, he crossed over to the drink section, opened a door and procured a can of iced tea. He walked up to the register and paid for the tea with a dollar. Not wanting to get his hands cold, he unzipped his gymbag and placed the can inside. He then exited the gas station and walked over to the roadside, waiting to cross. Once on the other side, he started towards the store where he had first started. But, as he took his few stwps towards the store, he heard something. At first he thought it may very well be a car pulling out of the gas station, but when he looked over at the station there were no cars there. In fact, he couldn't see anything that looked as if it had triggered that noise, and, as such, ignored it and proceeded towards the store. But as soon as he turned around, he heard it again. This time he was certain that the noise, whatever it was, was not a car. In fact, it sounded like some king of animal growling..."no", he thought to himself. Growling was not what he percieved this noise to be. Growling sounded much more welcoming than this. If he had to describe the sound he had just heard, "Snarling" was much more fitting. However, he soon half wished that he hadn't thought this, as it made his blood run cold. Then, he heard it one more time. He could feel it in his bones. He was now certain of three things. One, the source of the noise was of an animal. Two, that it was significantly bigger than him, possibly 4 or 5 times his size. And third, and worst of all, it was right behind him. He turned his head backwards to look. There, towering above him, was something hideous. A beast so grotesque and horrifying that the sight of it is incomprehensible to all but the boy himself. Deep within the folds of the boy's mind, his conscience echoed one small word: RUN! His fear was gripping over him, but his will to live was overpowering it. He turned and bolted forward as fast as he could. Two feet, four feet, seven feet, ten feet. He was doing it. he was escaping this creature. Then the boy felt the ground shake, and he knew the beast was after him now. Despite the creature's advance, he was already so far ahead. He was merely fifteen yards away from the store. The boy kept moving with every ounce of strength he had in him. The doors leading into the store, into salvation, just seconds away. Then, a shadow overtook him. He paused, frozen in absolute terror. The monster had jumped clear over him and now blocked his escape. The boy tried to move, but he had exhausted his trick. The fear that flooded his veins now made his body like iron, incapable of moving. The creature drew back an outstretched arm, and in one fluid, lightning fast motion, smacked the boy into the air. He was falling...through the air...towards the hard asphalt below where he knew pain awaited him. He closed his eyes waiting for the impact to come...but it didn't. seconds passed and stil he appeared to still be falling. "Did he dare open his eyes?" Slowly, he allowed his eyes to glide open. There he was, in his seat, on the bus. They were pulling into the same stop as before. After a moment of silence, the boy made his way to the door and got off the bus. He looked to his left, then to his right. And as he turned to the right, he thought he could hear the roar of some distant demon...or maybe it was just the wind.

Ummm...not to be rude, but why is this in General Discussion? *sweatdrops*

It looks like a story so shouldn't it be in one of the fanworks forums? ^^;
