I'm predicting Germany vs Netherlands for the final.

Final Four:

Spain vs Germany

Netherlands vs Uruguay

I wouldn't be suprised if that happened. I was really amazed when Germany took down Argentina; I honestly wasn't expecting them to go this far. They still have Spain though; if they take them down, then I'd really be impressed. But Netherlands, I'm going for all the way.

Spain has done well but it'd take a lot to take down this years powerhouse.

My bracket has Netherlands/Spain with Netherlands winning it all, but man Germany looked good today. Of course, Spain won't be quite as lackluster as they were today against Deutchland, either. Looking forward to their tussle.

It's Netherlands vs Germany for me in the finals, unless Robben and Sneijder die or get injured. No way a Suarez-less Uruguay will beat Netherlands. I'd like to see Uruguay take the World Cup, though.

Well, looks like Netherlands goes to the finals, and the last of the South American teams are gone (or at least in the third place match). But, again, I was really surprised with how it turned out and I didn't expect it to be that close.

It's Spain vs Netherlands in the final , then. YEAH!
The first half of Spain-Germany was so whatever, both teams played quite alike, although it could be noticed that Spaniards had more possession of the ball. I expected the score would depend on who would become tired first. It turned out to be Germans... they were just too slow and defensive and they lost. Overall, that match was really enjoyable to watch.

Spain has won! Paul the Octopus was right!

Well, now that that's out of my system, I was kind of expecting Germany to win, but oh well, they still have third place to aim for. Also I can honestly say that this match-up between Spain and Netherlands will be quite intense. I'm still hoping for the Netherlands, though.

Germany played so bad. I can't believe them. I was hoping they'd play better. :| And then they try to make up for it in the last minute and a half and I was like what is this nonsense.

But yeah. GO ORANJE
we will advance with sword in hand

I picked the final two right, so now it's down to either me or the Kansas City Star soccer blogger as to who's going to win the office pool. If I win, does that mean I know more about the beautiful game than the person the Star is paying to write about soccer for a living?

Well, the final game is today. It's hard for me to decide who I think is going to win, but I do want the Netherlands to win. Either way, I wish both teams good luck, especially for Spain, who is in their first final. Also, congrats to Germany for third place, they earned it.

@up: Poor Alonso... That was one brutal match. I've never seen so many yellow cards in one match. But still it was quite a boring one in comparison to Uruguay-Germany.
anyway... Spain won! Octopus Paul was right!

Don't forget the Copa Libertadores, the semifinals will be played soon.

Also, UEFA Champions League and most of the European leagues begin again.

Oh, and Paul the Octopus retired from predicting matches. :(

Well, now we wait for 2014.

Hope France doesn't suck, and Russia and Canada qualify.
