I actually do have this same problem. I can't tell who is a guy and who is a girl at all. Unless I remember someone referring to another user as a particular gender, I always refer to them as "they" instead of "he" or "she". It gets tiresome not knowing if your speaking to a male or a female.

Spell it with me... I-D-E-N-T-I-T-Y.

Maybe this kind of topic would deserve belonging at Site Discussion. I know some forums have the gender option. It's not a bad idea to incorporate the gender option.

For the record, I'm a male. And straight, if you're wondering about my sexual tendencies. And if you have BKO access, just browse through the SYF threads and figure out who's a guy and who's a gal.

It's also not that hard to just ask someone if they're a boy or a girl. Most of the time you can tell anyway, if you pay attention. ^^;

In addition to that, you can always check the newbie threads. Most people when they join list their gender there.

A lot of people like to keep their privacy online and gender is one of those things that can be considered very personal. *sweatdrops*

But I think it's not a bad idea to have people put on their profile their gender. Some forums have that option for members to choose their gender in the Profile section, some put their gender, some choose not to do so. The question is if LF is able to make that Gender option avaiable.

I don't think that hiding your gender is a crime.
