Nothing really. Jeremy hasn't been here to confirm anything.
I'm kind of guessing I'm temorary secondary leader then... TB3 hasn't been here either.

Sign me up.

I am not big on programming, but my cousin has a killer C++ book.

I also have noteworthy composer, if you need some music for the thing, i will be your guy.

I can also help with wherever you need me, i guess...

This was a good idea. It is possible, but you are going to need a whole lot of people...

I could probably do some random graphics work as its needed. im fairly proficient with photoshop.

I would put myself down for 3d modelling as well, but im still pretty noobish in that field. I really only deal with basic primitives (spheres, boxes, planes, etc.) most of the time. Ive got 3d studio max 7 here if it helps any.

Man, am I glad you guys have been keeping up without me! You guys are the greatest.
I've been needing secondary managers, and it seems that I could give that role to TB3 and HaloSpree, you guys seem to know what your doing.

I havn't been around because I got a 4 day weekend, and I couldn't pass it up! Sorry. :hyper:

I was looking into the quake 3 engine. But it's too confusing, and in C++ too! :umm: don't know much c++.

What kind of details?

Yay! TB3 and JeremyHopper are back.

I hate VB and compared to it C# is the best (and it's compatible wite TV3D).
If we're not using TV3D what are we using? (Jeremy check your PMs)

yay hopper is back!!! PARTY!!!! well now we can finaly get down to business. Just a quick question though... i am not sure if we confirmed this yet but is this game going to be more like the t.v. show, or more like a game where you are a little character running around and fighting. Sorry if it is a stupid question but i just really need to know. If i want to get a headstart on some landscapes i need to know this.

-Ninjaboi978

p.s.- does anyone know where i can find a cheap/download off the internet for free 3D graphing, landscaping (pretty much anything that lets you make 3D objects) programs.

cant really say theres a whole lot of free solutions for 3d modelling out there. only 2 i know of are gmax and blender but las I checked they didnt have any substantial means of exporting. the 2 big programs I would really look out for though are maya and 3d studio max. Im a max person myself, havent really touched maya though.

I don't think it's going to be either, to start. We need it to just be Lyoko for now-- we might add extra stuff later.

Oh, and for the 3D thing-- try what we're gonna be using (i use "we" lightly :P) www.truevision3D.com

it would be real nice if we could find out what moonscoop uses to develope the real thing. while im assuming its all in-house stuff, theres always that slight chance they are using publicly available software.

for example, all the "town" scenes on Cartoon Network are all done in 3d studio max just using an addon raytracing renderer to give it that "realistic" look.

Hey, I think I can contribute to the project... I can help with graphics, designing, and researching. I could also try learning programming, although I haven't had much experience with it before.

I hope that I can be of help :D

Wow, i feel stupid. You guys really know what you are doing. I guess i am a real clueless 8th grader.

But anyway. I can help look for music and such, maybe create some. I will also look into the moonscoop programs n' such...

If that is ok with you guys of course...

are you guys actually trying to go for a Lyoko "clone" or something else? because if you really stand back and pay attention to the complexity of Lyoko in the series, it really is not all that complex and could very well be thrown directly into a realtime engine and work out nicely on a fairly modern system.

take this as an example: anytime when Aelita uses her powers to add/delete bits of land in Lyoko, pay attention to the initial wireframes. while not exactly proven, more than likely these are the actual wireframes that the modellers are working with. same goes here for Team Lyoko when they get de-virtualized. not a whole lot of detail in the form of your traditional polygons. the only places you really deal with any detail are like on the towers or the "energy conduits" (the large "roots", if you will, that weave in and out of the ground and flash red when XANA has activated a tower).

just trying to set things in perspective here is all. If you are planning on a "clone" of Lyoko in the series, there really isn't a whole lot of need for all this "terrain maker" stuff, just your basic 3d modelling programs, knowledge how to use them, and a good imagination.

tell you what. I will personally take a small scene from the show (probably somewhere in the desert region as it seems to be the simplest designed area) and model out a bit of it here just to kind of get an example going. cant guarantee any specific time I will get done with it. just when its ready.

For modeling terrains and stuff like that, I like to use Gtkradient, it's free and is really good, it was created by idsoftware (they created the first tru 3d software engine) and was used to make quake 3, star wars jedi knight I & II, and Soldier of Fortune double helix and stuff like that. Did I mention it's free? Just google search it.

It's good to be back. 8)
