heres a few renders of my (unfinished) megatank

it would help if someone could find some good refrence pics, showing more of the inside and both sides of the ring

edit: i'm changing the title to "Monsters", since I'll be posting renders of the rest of the monsters as I make them, currently working on the Block

actually, the inside looks good from my point of view. the only suggestions I can make are 1) maybe texture the red peices on the inside (check the closeup pics i posted above) and 2) increase the faces on the center ring.

Think i should just remove the reflection on the entire thing? It doesnt really look like the actual megatank reflects anything in the pictures

OMG YOUR 3D SKILLS ARE AWSOME AND FANTASTIC! I've had some experience in 3d animating and modleing, and I know how hard it is. You could seriously work for antefilms. BTW, if your trying to make it look exactly like in the show, they use raytracing, which costs a lot of money to buy a plugin. hey, I have a question, some of the people on this board and I are working on a project where your skills would REALLY help. You can check out the thread for the project here, and you can check out the forum for our progress here.

The 3d modle of the megatank is amazing! I know how hard it would be to modle the inside with all the red goo and you did a wonderful job!

P:S:. the megatanks black outer shell does sorta reflect a little light.

the stuff inside was actually very simple, I just created two half spheres, extruded and beveled the flat side a few times, then created round sections on each sphere and bridged them

as far as I know, raytracer comes with 3DS Max
I'm using a raytrace material with a fallof map for reflections right now

One other thing I can suggest is to lighten up the black of the two megatank halves and texture them as well (the galvanized metal map in 3dsmax comes to mind). Other than that, it looks good.

On a more technical note, whats the poly count up to so far?

just added them, but they are always out (not open, just out, they open frames 15-25), and they dont sync with the rest of the animation yet

I managed to capture some video from the first episode yesterday, and realized the "charge rings" were the wrong color, i'll fix it soon

Drako, you would make a VERY NICE modeler. Are you familiar with Autodesk 3Dsmax?
If you make a megatank model with it let me know!
You should be on the w3 map team!

the characters are so much harder than monsters, the megatank was mostly primitives, the block I'm working on will probly be mostly slightly modified primitives
