Haha, I'm writing an Odd/Ulrich fic now. The first one was fourty-seven hand-written pages, but I messed up a lot and am working on the revised version.

Yumi's more likely to find Odd annoying than attractive. Then again, who knows? They might have had a mind meld when they switched bodies...

One of my fanfic ideas which I will probably never work out well enough to write begins with an adult Odd reflecting on his relationship with Milly and contemplating asking her to marry him... just before a car wipes out his motorcycle and puts him in a coma. (Actually, that's just about the beginning of the story...)

Everyone knows they will not get together which seems to say non-cannon.

But the relationship drives more of the storyline then any other save Jeremy and Aelita.
Which says cannon.

Well, I've seen a lot of J/Y out there, mostly because of what happened in "Image Problem" because of the polymorphic clone kissing Jer, and then when they defeated Xana, Yumi asks all cute-like "Are you sure it wasn't the real me?" and leans in. So...that one, I would support. O/A is pretty good too, however my heart belongs to J/A, U/S, Y/W, and O/C. C is for Calda. I'll put the story up soon in the fanfiction section. But I think you'll all think Calda and Odd is a good pair. But besides O/C, I think O/M is good for some weird reason. Either that or U/M, mostly because of in Teddygodzilla when she cried before asking him to the dance. I was crying too T-T Milly looked so cute...

That wasn't a polymorphic clone. It was a clone of Yumi. It couldn't change form. The first polymorph was seen in "XANA's Kiss" in the second season.

Milly and Tamiya have big crushes on Ulrich; however, it is usually Odd who comes to their aid and/or rescue.

"Routine" was in the first season, which led everyone to believe the would "SOOO get together" in the second season. The writers are the only ones who know. The rest of us have to accept that what will be will be.

meh it doesn't really bother me, but this last string of posts made me think about something that sort of bothers me. Why is it so taboo to show adults kiss on tv? I mean you can show teens kissing each other full on the mouth, but you better not catch an adult doing that. Case in point is the fact that in "Xana's Kiss," The fake Yolande kissed Jim on the cheek.

and yes i realize that is a big deviation of thought but it was something that intriqued me with the mention of teacher/teacher(staff) relationships

Angelbolt, SamBlob had nothing to do with Brightstar leaving. Please don't bring up ancient history like that if you don't mind. It'll only start an arguement all over again and we're here to have fun and discuss things. Not argue about what happened long ago at TVT.

If you are saying who we know get together it would be Ulrich and Yumi
If a kiss defines canon and non-canon then it would be Ulrich and Sissi.

Smallville is another good example who is canon Lana and Clark or Lois and Clark?

Yumi is the more important character. She reacts with the group and Ulrich on more levels then Sissi. If Yumi loses all interesting in Ulrich her relationship and membership with the group would not change.

The same could be said for Ulrich.

While for Sissi the vast majority of her role is defined by her relationship with Ulrich.
For example without it they can no longer go to her for help. Which has been very important for the storyline.

This is true. Alot of her character development does indeed come from her dealings with Ulrich and the rest of the group.

Anyway, to answer your question about canon/non-canon couples, "canon" generally means that the show itself appears to be in support of that couple (and canon couples are usually comprised of the main characters, as opposed to more secondary characters like Sissi, although this is not a rule by any means, just a guideline). That's why J/A and Y/U are considered "canon" couples. The show continually has episodes that feature some sort of theme or showing of either couple displaying affection for each other. "TeddyGozilla", "Logbook", "Cruel Dilemma", "Image Problem", "Swarming Attack"...they all featured some sort of Y/U theme in them, among many other episodes. Yumi and Ulrich are both main characters as well. The same sort of generalization can go for Jeremie and Aelita.

Sissi/Ulrich is generally not canon because Ulrich still does not have a mutual amount of affection for her, and because Sissi has not had as many romantically inclined moments with him, as opposed to Yumi.

It is quite a conundrum though as to what makes a canon couple and what is non-canon. It changes for every show really and indeed can become mildly confusing. The biggest question nowadays, I suppose, is whether or not Odd/Sissi (which is mainly conjecture at this point) as opposed to Odd/Sam (whom he actually did display a significant amount of affection for).

To be canon, or not to be canon...that is the question.

I'd never heard of those kind of couplings before. The funny thing is, some of those might actually be canon. In the backgrounds, they always have some of the "extras" talking with one another, particularly in "The Key". It would be really funny to go back and re-watch that episode and find out some of those could really be "canon".

I think Thomas may be my favorite extra...I'd have to check CL.com again to see if he's the one I'm thinking of...*snicker* ^^
