Dressing up as the character is just about all there is to it. You don't really have to act as the character. Some people (like Lani) dress up for conventions and stuff.

I've never done it before, but it'd be fun to.

That's the whole point of cos playing: you dress up identically to a character. That means the exact same colour clothes, same style, etc. You want people to look at you and say "oh, they're supposed to be 'blah (character)' from 'blah (show)'.

Just a note: Just because I'm uber obsessed with cosplay does not mean I'm an obsessive fangirl who thinks she's Asian and speaks really bad Japanese and addresses everyone with -chan and -kun (I may be obsessive fangirl, but I am Asian, I speak Japanese just fine, and I personally hate addresses). So if you saw any of my cosplay pics just to let you know I'm not scary looking at all... Just ask anyone who's seen my pic xD;;

I have already done Yumi's Earth costume, I wore it for Katsucon this past February. But of course, it looks so normal that no one woulda guessed I was in costume xD;;

Anyway, this summer for Otakon (If you live on the east coast I say GO! Because here's my plan for the weekend...), I was planning on not only doing Yumi's Earth costume, but her Xanadu costume from Garage Kids and the dance outfit from Teddygozilla for the Saturday night dance :O This also means I'm going to have to cut my hair shorter than it is now and dye it black, even if it is dark brown and appears black in most pictures... but better safe than sorry, ne?

I was also planning on being Aelita's S2 Earth outfit (BOOTS! ) for Anime USA much later this year in November. So yeah... CL is taking over my cosplay life :x

Also: I was started this costume when I was bored one day, and it's a female version of Odd! xD; Let me tell you it involves a VERY short skirt and a lot of purple... :O

Now, for a contest? Just tell me when you'd like the deadline to be (but please have it in the summer... I made a deal with my dad after he got really pissed and so I'm not allowed to sew until school ends :x), and I'll do my best to finish!

I could probably do an easy Jeremie if I wanted to. my biggest issue would be the hair color. doing an extreme change from Dark Brown/Black to Blonde would be a little difficult. plus if my mom found out I dyed my hair blonde she would kill me. literally.

xDD; Yeah, that's understandable. But there are two easy solutions... it just depends on how much money you'd want to spend :x One option is to buy a wig and style it using gels and stuffs. Another option is buying yellow hairspray... it is a lot cheaper, but it gets EVERYWHERE. Like, by the end of the day your shoulders would look like you took a shower in yellow sprinkles...

OOH! I never saw Yumi's Xanadu outfit. I only have the first five-minute episode. Can you show me? Do you have the second episode? Cause remember, I didn't exist in Xanadu.
