My best friend and one of the best artists I know had someone steal her art and put it up for a contest on codelyoko.com. And WON. Some of you might know my friend as MandyPandaa from DeviantArt.com and Fanart-Central.net.
A picture she did of Jeremie and Aelita on a bench (http://www.fanart-central.net/pic-108696.html) was the one stolen, and it won. She is currently emailing the website owner and making threads on the forum about the theft, and to put it lightly, she's BEYOND pissed off.
Ah ya know, it is a crummy thing to do but if you don't want your work stolen you shouldn't be posting it for everyone to see. It's harsh but thats the trade off artist take when they make their work public.
Now excuse me while I go hide behind a rock to dodge the flames.

Thanks, Lady Chaos. Metrion, I hope you don't mind but I'm going to lock this thread, since there's already a general rant thread for art theft. It's also a great place to report it if you see it happening to anyone else. We need some sort of contact chain so that no other artist is hit like this.
Chibi-Jen-Hen, a very popular CL fanartist was hit in a similar way only a few months ago, and I'm not surprised it's happened again because of CL.com's lax-ness about this.
Which reminds me...I must get that petition posted. O.O
Locking. Please use the thread Lady Chaos linked to for art theft discussion and rants. Thank you.

"You're a creepy genius."
