The Subsonics...

Just wondering peoples opinion on the role they play in the show. I think it would be pretty kewl if they actually had the band come and play a concert at Kadic. That would be a pretty cool ep. scenario. :music:

You do know the band is completely fictional right?

But there is a band known as the subsonics. However i dont think they have anything to do with Code Lyoko apart from the name.

No they don't play a part. They're just a popular rock band.

Yeah, and they only have like one song anyways. Even for a fictional band, that's pretty sad. But hey, that one song is cool enough to make up for like three more. :)

Sissi likes them too though and since she seems (to me) like a Britney Spears kind of girl, I don't really think you can say for sure.

They're only there because they need a source of public interest to fuel CL. It's like what the Krusty the Klown show is to the Simpsons. Only there because they need something to talk about that characters have in common.

And, the SubSonics ARE a real band, it's just a coincidence that CL has the same name. See http://www.slovenly.com/subsonics.shtml if you don't believe.

I'd say it's more along the lines that they chose a random rock band and decided to put it on a frequently-mentioned part of the show. I'm sure they could have done Linkin Park or Crush40 the same way.

Linkin Park probably would have ruined the show's reputation though =P Since Linkin would probably...like...scare little children... XD

If they had a real band show up it would split the shows fan base up to those that love the band featured and those that hate the band. Whichever band it may be. Causing the show to lose lots and lots of ratings.

It probably was just a random pick, like Aelita's reference to the Rolling Stones.

They can't even scare my grandma...

Aelita wrote:Aelita had a reference to the Rolling Stones? O_o Didn't know that.

Kinda... but not well referenced. Aelita in New Order told Jim that her complete name was Aelita Stones. And she said "like the rocker".

Thinking about it... Aelita Jagger? I know Mick Jagger had many children around the world...

I was almost sure she said 'Aelita Stones, like the rock group.' But I could be wrong.

The expression "like the rocker" was for the Spanish version of CL.

To be honest, they've never scared my younger cousins, they were wondering why "In the end, it doesn't even matter." Don't you hate it when someone asks you an impossible-to-answer question? I don't even listen to the band, I actually like Crush40 better (no, not just because they do the songs to Sonic).

The expression "like the rocker" was for the Spanish version of CL.
They said that in the English version too, did they not? Yes, they did. I clearly remember her saying, "Aelita, Aelita Stones; like the rocker."

Linkin Park... gods. Okay, I have a love-hate relationship with them. lol before I used to hate their guts because my friend forced me to listen to one of their CD's with the volume turned all the way up, but actually now I think some of their songs are pretty cool. :P

And yes, the Subsonics are a real band. If you don't believe me, see William's myspace. xD;;

No, it was group. I distinctly remember that. (Because.. how can you NOT remember Aelita Quotes? They're priceless! And you can go around saying that people are "Stubborn as a fool!" :P)

Haha, since I'm like a nerd Aelita DOES say (word for word) "...Stones, like the rock group."

And as for the Subsonics, it'd be cool if they had more music, since that one and only song they have is like woah... I love it xD Lalala.
