In the actual show, Jeremie and Yumi seem to have a brother-sister sort of relationship. They care about each other very much, and are always there to lend a helping hand to the other when in need. Although it could be argued that [in-canon] they are in love, that love seems to be purely friendship based.
In fanfiction, however, they are sometimes a bit more than just friends. Though two years apart age-wise, they can be portrayed as a sweet and caring couple. Most people do not support YxJ though because as cute as it can be, the canon JxA and YxU are infinitely more popular.
