Jeremie is the brains of Team Lyoko, and is thus the courageous leader of the team. He is the only one (except for Aelita) that can operate the supercomputer in a competent manner. Yumi has tried twice in the first season; once in Plagued and again in Frontier. The first time she dropped Odd and Ulrich in the wrong place in the Desert region. The second time she left Jeremie trapped in a virtual limbo, where his mind melded with Aelita's. In the second season episode Is Anybody Out There?, Odd took over his role temporarily. All he did was call up the Transport Orb for Aelita and tell her where the activated tower was. Finally, Ulrich has successfully done two time reversions. The first time was in response to the news that Yumi might be moving back to Japan. Ulrich got the lottery numbers for that day and activated a time reversion so he could win the jackpot. The second time was done with Jeremie giving directions over the phone.
Jeremie is attracted to Aelita despite her virtual nature, finding her innocence charming. This love is reciprocated by Aelita. In fact, when she is materialized on Earth (in the episodes Code: Earth and False Start), he even starts romancing her, giving slight hints that he's in love with Aelita.
The love and burning passion that Jeremie feels for Aelita - despite it being of good intentions - can sometimes cloud his thinking and judgement. This has happened once so far, in the episode The Girl of the Dreams. A girl, named Taelia that looks just like Aelita when materialized shows up in class one day. Jeremie was convinced, wrongly, that she was Aelita. Aelita had been trapped within a Guardian the entire time, which prevented communication between her and the rest of Team Lyoko. Taelia was rude and mouthy (referring to Jeremie's and Odd's comments about Lyoko as "pick-up lines"), and ended up calling the police on Jeremie. Aelita was able to deactivate the tower and trigger a time reversion before the cops could drag him away. Jeremie finally realized that his love for Aelita can sometimes cloud his mind.
Jeremie can also be very overprotective of Aelita, which sometimes annoys her and gets her very angry. In Déja Vu, he asked her to stay put so he could escort her to the factory. She responded by saying was capable of going there by herself.
Despite his lack of fighting experience in the dangerous world of Lyoko, the other members of the group respect Jeremie highly, and consider him a member of the team. His monitoring of their missions from the laboratory terminal has saved them many times, and his rapid thinking to counteract XANA's surprises has often turned the battle in their favor. In the second season, he has worked out programs to create vehicles for the others to ride/drive in Lyoko, speeding their travel time greatly and allowing them more flexibility, especially in the nearly unknown Carthage. He continues to work on an anti-virus to counteract the virus linking Aelita to the supercomputer, not only to save her, but to enable the group to finally shut down the supercomputer without losing Aelita and end XANA's threat to the real world, forever.
Jeremie wears a light blue turtleneck sweater and khaki capris. He also has blue shoes and round glasses.
