Oh yeah!

It was funny: I just realized I changed characters every time after Shadow Moses Island.

I have new respect for Pikachu....Was funny how you couldn't control Volt Tackle at first.

Yeah, I mostly play with Pikachu, so I learn a lot of tricks that way. But Volt Tackle is quite hard to manage, yes. I wasn't even sure if you could control it at first.

I had a lot of trouble against Samus, I'll have you know.

Hey, spamming can be a valid tactic.

Hmm... I oughta add a friend code page to the wiki. Not very Lyoko-related, but a lot of us play.

Guys, I'm all for enthusiasm for this awesome game and getting together to play it but honestly, this has nothing to do with "what one's best SSB character" is. ^^;;;

If you could kindly take any further game planning to the PMs or a group chat window or something (where it should be discussed), that'd be great. Thanks.

Do we really gotta Mew? Is it going to kill the integrity of the forum if we use the smash bros. thread to set up games online? Honestly?

This thread could use splitting, regardless. Considering Melee is still in the title and all...

Don't get condescending with me.

I asked nicely.

Now kindly either take it to PMs or I lock the thread for spam and start an actual Brawl thread as opposed to allowing this one to stay open and merely splitting it into two threads.

And I asked honestly, Ms. Powertrip, and yes I am willing to risk suspension to argue this. We're in a general discussion forum on a fansite whos orignal creator dumped in years ago for a TV show we all loved but it died, R.I.P. months ago. We're never going to get new members, in fact I think the only reason any of us remain is the sense of community we have. I state again is it really going to kill the forum if we bend a few rules? hmmm? Or is this just a case of you having authority and using it?

Oh Lord, not again.

Yanno, if you want to argue with one of the people running the board, go ahead.

Still, you both should ask yourself if this is really that important.

Beyond Birthday/PepsiPiper, Does it really have any effect on the universe if we create a thread where the first post has our friend codes? now, the PM idea is a rotten way to set matches up if there are more than two people who want to join, so I'm not even gonna try playing te Devil's Advocate on that idea. Still, will pressing that little button above the topics waste too much energy? I doubt it.

Now, I'm gonna step in it and give slightly Fanboyish constructive criticism to an admin. Last Rites plz?

Mewberries, BB has a point. Why don't you or some other mod/admin split or change the name of this thread? As I said, PMs dun work so well when you have more than 2 people. Groupchat is out jus' because we are all on at different time zones. Additionally, this is history to us now. We wanna preserve it.

Is there a compromise we can make here?

Is it possible just to make a thread that's simply devoted to the LF Brawl Community? The first post would have everyone's friend's codes who wishes to share them while the thread can be used to both acquire new members and set up matches. Granted the discussion of this thread lends itself to a chat format than other topics. I will say that there are many respected respectable forms out there (such as the voiceacting alliance and the online smash bros community) that use a similar format for organizing form-wide events.

Really I think the main issue is is not the brawl discussion/match set ups its more like we're having brawl discussions in a melee thread.

I believe mews argument that we weren't to have a thread for setting up matches, and wanting us to use PMs and my humble opinion reflects yours. And I have you know, more often then not I don't go against administrators for the sole purpose that "whoever owns the board makes the rules" but at this point LF isn't a forum it's a group of friends of sorts, so I fail to see the point in such strict enforcement of the rules.

regardless, in the grand scheme of things no JF it's not the end of the world. However it was and still is a perfectly fine way of doing things, I don't see any reason to stop aside from Mews seeing an opportunity to enforce the rules just for the hell of it. Thus why she said I had a condescending attitude, rather than answering my initial question I theorize.

That's why this thing should be split; to preserve our initial matches in the annals of LF history. Srsly, the thing goes into Brawl at one specific point and continues onward as Brawl.

Uh...is your comma key broken or something?

That aside, the thing to remember is That's what mods and admins do. I think we should just make a Brawl Community thread now that I think about it.

I'll do it, if you wish.

Ms. Powertrip? Since when have I ever used my Admin stature to do anything other than enforce the rules? Have I used my Admin stature to ban whomever tweaks me off or that I don't agree with? No. Have I used my Admin stature to change this forum to fit my liking and change it from a Code Lyoko forum to oh, say, maybe a "MewB's #1" ego trip forum? Still no?

Yeah, I thought so.

If you're still upset about Erynn moving on, you need to move on yourself. Seriously. Stop living in the past.

You say we're not getting new members or that enforcing the rules will lose us new ones? Have you checked the member list recently? Or Newbies for that matter?

People can stay here for whatever reason they want. Doesn't mean they're going to be given free reign to do whatever they want.

You want me to see me actually <u>using</u> a fraction of what you call "authority", I have here? Keep up with that attitude and you'll see it. And it won't just be me dishing it out.

I'd have been more than happy to split the thread. Having two threads, one for merely discussing best/favorite characters, and one for you guys to discuss and joke about your matches and triumphs and stuff would have been just fine.

All anyone had to do was ask nicely, as opposed to getting condescending and whiny. (Which by the way Tangent, thank you for suggesting a thread split in mature manner. ^^ Sorry I couldn't get to splitting the thread before the new one was made. ^^;)

SEES wrote:Is it possible just to make a thread that's simply devoted to the LF Brawl Community? That idea also would be just fine (in lieu of or in addition to splitting this thread). As I notice you've already made it, might I also suggest that, for instant chat and match planning, if you are all online, that you simply use our handy dandy LF chatroom? (If that is possible for you all, I realize some of you may not be able to use #LF for certain reasons.) Then you can talk live as opposed to having to wait for posts to load on the forum. It's much quicker, especially when working out the nitty gritty details of a match (items, handicaps, etc). ^^

And yes, G, you've hit the nail on the head. The problem was not exactly the match set ups (although I really would suggest using #LF chat (if possible) if PMs are no good, as it's much faster and more personal/private.) The big problem was that anyone who wanted to use this thread to talk about their favorite or best Smash Bros character couldn't due to the off-topic match chat.

Beyond Birthday wrote:I believe mews argument that we weren't to have a thread for setting up matches, and wanting us to use PMs and my humble opinion reflects yours. Do you want every Tom, Dick and Harry newbie who joins here to post whatever spam he wants in your threads you worked hard to create? No?

Well, unfortunately, either everyone has to observe the rules or nobody has to. It's not going to be fair otherwise.

Beyond Birthday wrote:regardless, in the grand scheme of things no JF it's not the end of the world. You were being rude and you know it. Don't even <i>try</i> to play the "Oh, I was just asking an innocent question," card, when your original post was not at all worded in a way that would have led me to think you were doing so.

If I were a person who wanted to enforce the rules just for the heck of it, you'd have been banned ages ago the first time you were rude to me and the other Admins. I also wouldn't have bothered to post a reason as to why I felt you guys were going off-topic, nor would I even be typing out this long-winded response to all of your replies. I'd have just locked this thread without a word, simply because "Off-topic threads can be locked. It's in the rules and too bad to anyone who didn't read them." But what did I do instead? I gave you all (very friendly, by the way) a heads up, complete with suggestions on where you could enjoy your chatting elsewhere as opposed to on this thread.

You seem to be under the delusion that I'm the sole Admin of this forum and that I just do whatever I want or get a kick out of telling people what to do. Well, I'm not. There's 3 other Admins whom also run this forum.

It's all too easy for you, Pepsi, though, to think that I'm enforcing the rules because it's "fun". Because you didn't have to deal with the spambots. You didn't have to deal with the trolls. And you still don't have to deal with the spammers and n00bs who sometimes sneak their way onto this board (beyond maybe having to read their posts before somebody catches them). You don't have to do a <u>darn</u> thing other than sit on your butt in front of your computer and enjoy this forum and its members to your heart's content.

Gee, I wish I had that kind of freedom still sometimes.

At any rate, kindly keep this to SSB character discussion from now on (Anyone who has something else to say to me, send me a PM). If you guys would still like the thread split so that your match history is separate from this thread, just send me a PM and I'll get right on it.
