We don't know. But they never said it was to end in 4 years. However, the contract of the voice actors are up to Season 4. Then, CL can get axed or renewed.

Rumour is that there might be a movie after S4 - what is known is that the chief writer told 'codelyoko.net' that 'we have an idea for a movie' and 'we'd like to do it' - in my mind if they were gonna make one, they'd do it then.

Well, who knows. As long as the writers can keep stories going that long, I think they can squeeze a S5.

Or...the show can go the fate of Teen Titans. (Okay S1, EXCELLENT S2-4, and boring season 5)

There comes a point when stories just need to stop. For CL, I hope that point isn't soon, but...who knows...

But...movie. Movie is good. YAY IF IT DOES HAPPEN!

Code lyoko is one interesting case.
In case like, Rugrats, that old nick show. sure, it lasted a long time, but died out. then when they tried to refresh it, it completely spun out of control.

While there are things like, say, Naruto, as an example, where it's just too foreing that it can go in any direction.

so at this point, I'd say technically speaking I don't know.

But being a voice writer, I'd say that seeing how limited the choices are, I don't think there will be anything much farther. I mean, look at the start of S2! it was just posession after posession.

There comes a point when stories just need to stop. !

Taking that litttle section out of your post, because I am glad that someone else brought this fact up. Stories do have eventual endings. For Code Lyoko, I hope that they will end it when it is appropriate. What I mean is that I just don't want seasons to keep happening because they producers can milk the good ol cash cow ( which sadly can/will/does happen with some shows and those that can't be milked are usually axed instead of finished) If the story ends at season 4, then I will be satisfied. But this show will have some definitive end. one of two major things will happen.

1. They defeat Xana against overwhelming odds and achieve the "Un monde sans danger" ( which is the most likely, because that is how most stories are)

2. Xana overwhelms them and wins ( which if done correctly could provide some good romance/action/phliosophical thought and would be perhaps more realistic. Probably won't happen though, even though I think it would be neat.)

after the conclusion of the story, whenever that is, I think that a movie of what has happened since ( see ending #1) would be satisfactory, or a realease of a few notes that fans could read on the final fates of the characters. of course they could do all the stuff before season one, but I am not sure that would be a good idea either, because even it has a definite end.

and lets face it, some things just do need to die and be remembered as a good show.

Yeah. Invader Zim was cancelled after two seasons of production, but it wasn't as popular as CL is now. If we continue to buy the merch and watch the reruns of episodes, we just may have success. My mom always tells me that we must be the "head and not the tail, above and not below".

Sincerely, I hope that Season 4 is the last one. A movie would...well, I have an idea I like for an animated movie, and I know someone (TL, was it?) wants to do a live action one, but in all sincereity, I don't think it could be done well.

EDIT: And actually, in all reality, Invader ZIM truly only had ONE season, but it was split into two stints of episodes due to production value, 9/11 causing some episode rewrites, etc.

Invader ZIM was kind of messed up. (The way it was done, I mean. The show was the stuff of legend.) It's cancellation was so messy, to this day nobody really knows the definite reason of cancellation. The creator has sworn never to work in children's TV again, and several of the crew say that they will not come back if the show were reinstated. I'm not even sure what the real 'last episode' was. (Horrible X-mas? Frycook? That unmade S2 finale?). The procces has been so mingled, there is NO WAY, unless we have a miracle, that it will come back.

Hm...a live action movie. Usually, this means EOSGNAWKI (End Of Show's Good Name As We Know It), so I'm not sure. If it's done well, it could be done. I'd be looking forward to some cool SFX. (As for the plot...it could be the prequel. Or something.)

But... it would be produced in French first. With French actors and actresses. Who, in most likelihood, don't know much English. I don't think they have the money to remake it in English. If they tried to dub it, it would probably be a mess. They could subtitle it, but...

Like people said, sadly all good things have to come to an end... CL being one of them. If it ends up just keeping going and going and going, then eventually I'll just be like "eh..." For me S4 is the last one, but if there's an S5 then that's okay...

Now for a movie? Sure, I'll see it. But I'll never admit to watching it xD;; 'Cause I'm...weird like that.

Look, everybody, we're all worried about when CL will come to an end. But you're all looking at the negative side! Think of it this way: we know for sure that CL will remain for at LEAST two more seasons, for a total of somewhere around 104 episodes! That's past most cartoons, isn't it?

Yes, yes it is, and I don't think I have a negative view on the situation. I am just being precautious. I am very thrilled that it is going to last two more seasons. I am just worried about what can happen after that.

And if they really wanted, they could always do a prequel series showing the early days for the gang. Probably milk a season out of that if they wanted to...

But yeah. As much as I hate seeing good things end, it's for the best. The first half of Zim is all awesome, and the second half has an awful lot of "meh" stuff in it. (Of course, that's because they changed the way they wrote, not because they ran out of ideas.)

There isn't a way to tell when a series will end. Or rather, if it does, if it will come back to life. No one can predict the future, I don't care what swammee you're talking to. Personally, I'd rather be surprised to figure out. Rather than find out on my own.

As for movie rumors, let's hope it's a movie-movie, not one of those lousy TV-exclusive premiers. One big enough for the movie theaters, you know. It's those thirty-minute movie premiers that shows I hate. The Danny Phantom "Ultimate Enemy Showdown" looked quite interesting, but when I watched it, the fight scene lasted less than two minutes to say the least.

Though being that they only say that they have an idea for movie and want to do it, doesn't mean it will happen, or be successful in any possible way. Only SEGA would be dumb enough to do whatever they and the fans want to do.

You know mabe its for the better that Cl ends at S4 What if it leads up to the big final four episodes? Like them finding franz Sam or Sissi Finaly admiting there love for Odd only to have Odd tell them that he's always loved milly or some thing. Ulrich and Yumi admiting they love each other the same goes for Aelita and Jerimie and them finaly killing XANA for good? As mewberries151 always says after a long explanation. *Sweatdrop*

We read around the net that it would last 15 episodes and after it ends, we get Season 4 straight ahead.
