OMG! You can't stop coming here! You're like my best Friend!

My advice: Don't give out passwords. Or let her into your e-mail, because on most sites she can just say you lost it, request a new one, then log in as you, and change your password.

But I do have to agree with Myspace. There was a girl who got her friends angry, and as a joke they put her address on Myspace, and she was murdered.
*Also see the Closer episode about that Very scary, but very funny*

Wow, I really feel sorry for you. You should add a poll option saying "All of the above except '...is right about this.'." I would choose that one.

You should try and regain your trustworthiness in another way. Maybe you could take on a large responsibility in order to make her believe you. Just a suggestion.

I'm really upset though because she doesn't trust me even though last time I really lied to her was when I was 7 years old. I assured her that my myspace is set on private, I use it primarily for music, and I only communicate with LFers and people at school. She has no trust in me.She believes all the stupid things that say "OMG, everyone your child ever talks to is a sex offender, take their passwords and question everything they do!"

I refused to give her my pw on any site. I told her I'd give her a tour of the sites and what I'm doing whenever she wanted, but no pw for her. She wouldn't do that.

She got mad at me for filling out a survey that asked questions like "Have you ever played DDR?" Total craziness.

We'll I can't really relate to that because I'm proboly alot older than you lol.

Anyways, your parents are just looking out for you, thats the only reason they are doing it. Try to explain to your parents that you are trustworthy, and explain that the dangers of online predators have to be two sided. Explain that you know enough not to give out personal information, or ever meet anyone you talk to online, and that you would report any suspicious behavior.

If you really want to go around her back you could just visit a website through a proxy, and then clear your catche, but I would talk to your parents first and try to reason with them.

well reason is all well and good but the human brain isn't a computer <although> so logic doesn't always work, my advice is speak in vague emotialnal terms, then talk about the specifics about websites, the rapid change-up should throw her enough so that you can visit all your sites, if that doesn't work, well my advice as always is to refer sean covey's 7 habits for highly effective teens, it's an investment that won't let you down

Numbah 7, I really would suggest just talking through with your mother what you do online, and your feelings on what she has done - understanding between parents and their kids is usually the best way to deal with these things.

That failing, try the guilt card! Tell her that YOU'RE dissapointed in HER for not trusting you! :D

Whatever you do though, best of luck :thumbs up:

I've offered and offered top show her what I do, and I also reminded her that I haven't given her a reason not to trust me. She knows that I get into trouble for being honest more than I did back when I lied a lot. If she isn't conviced that I am trustworthy because I keep being honest no matter how much it bites back, then she never will. She's not one to change her mind on anything at all.

What your mom is doing is majorly invading your privacy and lacking the trust in you that normal parents have. I think... Mine do. Anyway, maybe you should talk to her about it. It might work, but then again... I don't know your mom and how she would react.
You decide whether you should talk to her or not. I'll just suggest it to you.

My mom knows all my passwords to everything, and she checks my history allll the time. She also reads my xanga and livejournal posts, and she can get into my account for Myspace. She made me put everything as like... private, except livejournal and xanga, because who really cares? Also, she doesn't really care that I go on this forum, cos she has a forum she goes on, so she's like whatever. But she checks the history ALL the time. Your mom is probably just scared that you might be doing something bad on the computer. I think that you shouldn't really talk about problems you have with your family to people you don't even know though. I mean, all we have is YOUR opinion on this matter, and YOUR side of the story on this, and you couldve exaggerated it a bit, but I'm not in any place to make an opinion unless I know how your mom feels about this situation and what her reasons for checking what you do on the computer are.

And also remember, she can probably take the internet away from you if you aren't compliant with what she wants, so just keep that in mind.

In the words of Bill Cosby.
"I put you in this world, I can take you out."
Keep that in mind also.

She'd take internet away anyways. Some of the info I give out would make an uneducated person (such as my mom) freak out. If she was properly educated on the subject, I'd have no problem with giving her pw.

I know what youu mean, but it's not really her fault, we grew up with the internet and GUI's they didn't, what you could try is, if your mom isn't really defensive about this kind of thing (I don't know), is try to teach her a little about the subject but again I don't know your mom so use your best judgement

Wha? Are you saying that this is good? Where am I going to go when I need someone to talk to? She's not there for me, and neither is anyone else.

I was being sarcastic. Sorry.

What I really meant was that your mother's way too hard on you for just bailing courses.

I also have a scholership riding on this too. And since we don't have money to put me through college, if I lose the scholorship, I'm screwed.

That's another story. There's no other way to solve this thing... like bribing your teachers?

No way, I don't have anything to bribe. I'm a good student, I skipped class once and the teacher only counted it as a tardy cuz I'm her favorite, but I dunno about how to fix grades. At least I have a good chance of bringing up my Algebra grade to passing. I've got 15 school days left. I just hope I did good on my English essay. It'd be a mirical to pass any of those classes.
