So far designing for the desert region is under way, some character design, and some weapon design.

Far from finished though

Edit: We'll I just got milkshape along with alot of plugins. It seems to be an extreamly powerful program, and I've yet to even get started. After I play around and learn how to use it hopefully I can get working on the characters

Yea if you could upload them it would be a help. I'm going to try to use the image as a background image, and hopefully model them from that.

I'm reading as many tutorials as I can because its a complex program, and yea I got milkshake for free, its a 30day trial, but I got around that :)

Hmmm. Mine's not a 30-day free trial. Maybe that's because my membership (from buying the other version) isn't expired and I get it still. It did say something like, "Your Membership is not up to date. WOuld you like to update it?" and clicked yes and now I got it. That's a good idea, to use the background image. That's really only good for 3d though. if I get done with anything I'll send it to you (I'll have to convert the 3d to txt and then you convert it back). I don't have any good pictures right now, sorry. I'll get some together. I can't find a shot of ulrich in a no-pose, he's either standingin a fighting stance or some other stance. The wireframe shot I have is him on his overbike.

JH,Hey my rank is Jeremie's Assistant so could I be your assistant? :D Sorry could not help making that joke.
Ok working on another laser arrow as I type. will upload them soon. They will be a little out of size but nothing photoshop can't help. Probaly ten or twenty of them so they will be spread out. Next project is a over board. Now that is gonna be tricky.

I'll see if I can't do something with those.

I'm having a real hard time creating anything with Milkshape, or even editing pre-created objects. Might not be able to do anyything at all lol.

I'v had some pre-experience with milkshape. I'm working on Odd's weapon, I can make the model, effect and textures. The way it will work is it will look just like his arm. I'm also still working on the lighting for the desert_region.

I got the lighting done on the region, and I created a new rock :thumbs up: it's just a new rock but their complicated. Speaking of complicated, oh my gosh, lighting was horrible! At first, I couldn't crontrol the lighting, that's why everything was yellow looking. Then I made the textures darker so that when the textures got lit up like time square on new years, it looked normal. Not so easy though, at first everything was pink. Got it though. here you go. the files labeled "new lighting" are the ones. Now I'm gonna work on more structure (more rocks, more platforms)

What, so which program are you using to create Project XANADU? Or are you just going to do the entire programming by yourself?

well it hasn't entirely been decide but so far what we have bben doing is creating maps on other programs and we'll probably incorporrate those into a program we write ourselves

Great job so far, though we'll need to make some better textures for it. I still have to get Milkshape.

well I know that we've tried to move a couple times before and it hasn't worked but I advise moving to iLyoko it's an up and coming website and will probably grow very well as battle of lyoko and W.O.L. are both hosted there

I'd advise waiting on moving to another forum for the moment. We might as well just stay here for a while. If we're going to move, I'd suggest that somebody makes a dedicated site and forum on a reliable host. For the moment, we only really need one thread, as JeremieHopper seems to be the only one who is able to do anything at the moment. Once the project really gets moving, we'll think about changing locations.

The map editor I'm using creates BSP Files. What would be the ultimate greatness is if we could make our own BSP runner, so we could make our own game from scratch, and still use the levels I'm making. You know how the map editor for BSP's works for a couple star wars games and quake 3? You may not believe me but..... on quake 3's website they have free all-out source code for the whole entire game of quake 3 in c++. quake 3 also works with milkshape files (it works with md3 files) so with the source code we have everything, and also, we have all the utilities! It's realesed under the GNU Public Liscense (yeah, I know I spelled it wrong) and you can find it here. It's listed as "Q3A 1.27g Game Source". Is it the coolest or what?!? It comes full with the multiplayer and single player source codes. If anyone knows c++ programming (this is me with c++ :umm: :cussout: ;__; ) then we need you!

So now, on the top of our lists for new recruits, we need 3d animators, modelers, ect., and we need some c++ programmers (I'll try to learn some c++, my dad has about 10 books on c and c+ and c++ including graphics).

I know some C++ and Java, so I can lend a hand (not like my milkshape hand, which doesn't function)
