I'd advise waiting on moving to another forum for the moment. We might as well just stay here for a while. If we're going to move, I'd suggest that somebody makes a dedicated site and forum on a reliable host. For the moment, we only really need one thread, as JeremieHopper seems to be the only one who is able to do anything at the moment. Once the project really gets moving, we'll think about changing locations.
Hey I got a forum you can join there! I already created a section for it. So here is the link http://www.takeforum.com/forum/index.ph ... c80a6922c5.

Let me paraphrase: Until we need to move, we should stay here. We DON'T need to be moving anywhere just yet, not until the project is big enough that one thread won't contain it.

I have never been on that site except to read episode recaps! Now back on topic. Do you think we could use rpg maker XP in case we ever decide to market it like a game or something?

Ummm...then how do you know people from there? *sweatdrop*

At any rate, there's other threads for TV.com discussion, to be sure. ^^ Let's just keep this one for the Xanadu project, okay? ;)

tv.com was actually pretty good at the begginning. I was there, and not at lyokofreak. I called lyokofreak lokofreak (don't tell anybody!) and I didn't like it. But, then tv.com got really, really stupid, and they were pretty boring. So here I am.

Maybe not. See weve got the code for the star wars game, so most likely no, you do not need the star wars game.

No. RPG Maker XP uses 2D game worlds. We're making a 3D one. Either way, I say we concentrate on the here and now, and work on the world itself, until it's far enough along for us to start speculating about the future. Meanwhile, I STILL haven't gotten Milkshape. I'll probably have it within a day or two, then I'll have to figure out how it works. Hopefully I'll be able to contribute something.

We should get an FTP server or something like that where we can put the milkshape files, textures, and stuff like that, because putfile only works with images, video, audio, and flash files. That way, we can consolidate everything that we're working on, so we can see how far we've gone.

Well, for the qeradiant .map files, the files contain text. I know a server where you can post text, so I could rename the .map file with a .txt exstension and then anyone picking it up could rename it with the .map exstention and it would be no worse for wear. This would only work for files that contain text. (e.g.: if you renamed a jpeg with a .txt exstension and back again it mght not work, then a again, it might.)

Edit Okay, I found a viewer for viewing the .map files I can create to make the regions and such. This program is free and lets you view a .map file. You can find it here. Also, the .bsp files I'm making are REALLY good because they work on so many games. Some include Star Wars Jedi Knight II, Half-Life 1 & 2, SOldier of Fortune, Quake 3, and the first three Medal of Honer Games.

Anyway, you guys should download the .map viewer, and here's the .map file for the desert region. This is WITHOUT textures and WITHOUT the music. The .map file is actually a .txt file, so you'll have to rename the .txt extension as .map and then run it.

I hope the .map viewer works, I havn't tried it!

Don't worry, the thread isn't going to die. After all, it was left dormant for a really long time, but was still revived and is now going strong. You don't need to break forum rules to keep it alive.

You know, I think we are really out-growing this thread, I mean, it really dosn't make sense to have a whole project like this in one thread. Lyokowarriorboy2006, I know you have a forum with part of it dedicated to XANADU, but I think we should have a whole forum dedicated to it. So, I created a forum which you can acess in the link below. I think it's pretty cool, so sign-up there and I'll give some people moderator privleges and such.

The Official Forum of Project XANADU

So, from now on, you guys should post there.

i've just had a thought....which is rare.

to make a quantum computer that is powerful enough to house a virtual universe would take hundred of qubits.
according to season2- a great day the quantum computer they use gains a qubit every time a RTTP is launched.
if we wish to gain enough qubits we need to develop an rttp function and return back in time to add another qubit.

once the rttp function is complete this is the proccess of things that will happen:
1) a program is written to measure qubits
2) a test program is written to make a certain person remember what happened
start testing
3) 0:00 ---> the measurement program is run, the number is recorded and saved to the computer
4) 0:15 ---> the measurement program is run again
5) 0:25 ---> the test program is run
6) 0:30 ---> the rttp program is set to return to 0:10 (by the experiments time).

7) if the test program is successful then the user should remember what has transpired, if the program fails then the user should notice a significant different in the nuber of qubits, possibly 1 qubit per rttp

does anybody object to this idea.

p.s. the current quantum computer uses 7 qubits max.
