Almost everything I own comes from Asian countires! What would us USA peeps do without 'em? I guess people forget that or something....

Many things are from Asian countries because the "working hand" over there is cheap. For clothing, you might see children working on it, and being exploited at most times.

I thank my parents for not being born at Taiwan or Pakistan, or India. They can still get a f*** you for getting me born at Peru.

What was said about Canada displaying the USA flag surprised me. I hadn't realized they did that. Maybe I should go buy a Canada flag and display it, goodness knows I don't want to display our own flag... (I hate living in the US, in case you couldn't tell)

Because I live in America. And it sickens m that many people refer to the USA as America when in reality America takes over many countries such as Canada, Mexico, Brasil, Argentina, Peru, Chile, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Cuba, etc.

O.o; Well, distaste towards the US probably exists in every country in its own quantity...and vice-versa.

...Two continents, as in N. America and S. America? Yeah, you're right, x1. Calling the country "America" does overlap the other countries. The US is not comprised of two continents, but rather 1/3 of one continent (or some amount.) ^^

Shi_Min_Xi brought up a good point about African slaves in America. Have you noticed that throughout American history, it was the whites who always had the most rights? First, black people were slaves no matter what. Whites couldn't become slaves. Then, there was Segragation. Blacks had to relinquish their rights to whites when they wanted them. Next, there was Executive Order No. 9044. Do you know what that was? It ordered the evacuation of all US residents of Japanese ancestry into concentration camps. Why? Japan was an enemy of the US. But so was Germany and Italy. But there weren't any Germans or Italians arrested for being who they were. Why? Because Germans and Italians were European. THEY WERE WHITE.

You can't really say that the only reason that Germans and Italians weren't placed in concentration camps is because they were white. Not to come off as racist or anything, but isn't it true that it is easier to pick out a person potentially from an Asian country than it is to definitively say "Oh, that person's German, that person's Italian, that person's French," etc. You just can't tell. For example, I happen to be of German decent, but everyone tells me I look just like my friend, who's ancestors are Irish. My other friend is Greek but he looks like my friend who is German (I live in a predominantly German town) You just usually can't tell where exactly people of European descent are exactly from, and I doubt if people in the WWII era who were from Germany or Italy were walking around waving their native flags while a war raged overseas. Please do not take this the wrong way, and I sincerely hope things get better for you soon.

Only in part of Canada. Not all of it. Quebec speaks French, but the rest of Canada speaks English.

Germans and Italians weren't put into concentration camps because they were white. It's a fact, we learn it in school, it's what it says in history books.

I'm over this whole "America hates me, is mean to me, and I think living here is crap" thing, although I still hate racists.

Now I've got bigger problems...

Also, about the US being called "America", I actually think it's wrong to call it the United States. Mexico's official name is the United States of Mexico, although we just call it Mexico. We call the US America because America is what comes after the "of." It's wrong to call America the United States because, well, there are other United States out there.

yeah, i think people just refer to the continents as "north america", "south america" and "the americas".
Whereas the USA can either be called america, or the US, whichever is more appropriate in the situation

Now for the Germans/italians/japanese concentration camps arguement

America as we know it was originally made up of all european imergrates, and japanese people didnt live there t'ill quite a bit later. So they couldnt seperate german and italians because so much of the population was at least part italian or german, it would be taking out nearly half of the population, which would leave america too weak to fight a war.
Whereas japanese people made up a very small part of the population, so it wouldnt hurt america's production or troop base, also america's main battle was in the pacific.
So it wasnt really for a racist reason, but a practical one.
