OMFG MY FRIGGIN ENGLISH ESSAY KILLED MY GRADE

Okay, so today's the last day of school. A while ago, we had to do an essay for English class, and I turned it in. The next school day (this Monday), my English teacher said she didn't have it. If something's marked "missing," then obviously it's a zero. So yesterday (Thursday), I turn the essay in, but my teacher said she had it on Wednesday and that she had already graded it. But now when I look at my report card, the essay was still marked "missing", so I got a "C" in English, bringing my GPA down to 3.37. If it wasn't for that crappy essay, I would've gotten high honor roll.

just explain to them that you turned it in on time, but the teacher must have misplaced it...it does happen...I have had it happen...some teachers are idiots, always losing stuff..

Tell your parents that you were so busy reducating yourself to meet their standards that you forgot about it. Add in some tears to and some frantic babbling. Hopefully they'll feel guilty and you'll get off the hook.

Listen, some of us aren't smart, at all. My GPA has never even made it to 3. My highest ever was 2.75. And oh no, one essay brought you down. I try my hardest on everything and I still SUCK AT SCHOOL. I've never been on honor roll or anything like that, and OH MAN YOU DIDN'T GET HIGH HONORS.

So you don't get good grades. That's just how you are. Whether you try and struggle, or you don't try, or whatever you do, that's what YOU get.

In his life, he gets Honors. To not get Honors, obviously it's depressing to HIM.

He knows he can get Honors, so knowing somehow he received something below his potential is frustrating.

I never got honors (at school, I made the Top 10 at my classroom, but at my total school prom I was jsut an average person), but everyone somehow pretty much envies a person who gets higher grades complaining about it.

I know that in the future, good grades count... and everyone will note that later... and failing sucks, depending on how did the failing happened.

And if you would have succeded... what would you GPA be now? (Assuming you could have got an "A-") In the end, what scholarship are you aiming to?

You're missing the point; I don't give a crap about my grades!

The point is that my parents want me to be a "good student." The only reason I get punished is for not being the best of the best. FOR GOD'S SAKE, I GOT A DEATH THREAT FOR NOT TURNING IN A SINGLE ASSIGNMENT! (Although I'm sure that was a scream of frustration.)

You know what my dad said once? It was the day before I was going to a Bar Mitzvah. He said he wouldn't let me go so my friend would get pissed off and not be my friend anymore. And he said he wanted to do that because he thinks that my friends are important to me, and school isn't, so to get me to learn, he thinks he has to take away everything important to me. And you know what that friggin argument started with? It started with me not bringing a flyer home. A FLYER! MY DAD TRIES TO TAKE THE MOST IMPORTANT PEOPLE AWAY FROM ME BECAUSE I DIDN'T GET SOME STUPID FLYER AND MY PARENTS DON'T BELIEVE ME!! I got grounded for over half a year for getting a B+. Just imagine what they'll do when they hear that I got a C.

You know, when I joined LyokoFreak, I was doing it secretely because if my parents ever found out I was going on forums when I'm not getting straight A's, they would cancel their Internet and probably lock me up in the unbuilt basement.

Okay. Now, for some advice.

First, take a deep breath, count to ten, tell yourself that you did the best you could. Then, try telling your teacher about your situation, or your parents what happened. Hopefully, one of them will understand.

I agree with you-your parents are just NOT feeling it. They shouldn't expect perfection, they should know that even if you get a B or C, that you tried your best. That means you're learning.

And please, LWB2K6, calm down. This is the Rant forum. That is what they're supposed to do.

LyokoWarriorBoy2006, you shouldn't ever do what you did on this thread. That was rude and uncalled for and completely un-provoked. Please do not do that again on anyone elses thread, and may I also remind you again about dropping the F-Bomb (censored or otherwise) has been asked personally by StarWay to be stopped. Please cease and desist this type of behavior at once and please avoid the Rant forums if they bother you. But don't complain about other people's rant threads, especially since you have made several (with rather similar topics) yourself. Insulting fellow members here for them (or for anything really) is not appreciated. Thank you very much.

KingCheez, I understand that you have been having troubles in school recently (judging by your own rant thread) but I would ask you to be understanding of other people's views on schools and not attack them like you did on this thread. That was also wrong, but I have seen that you are under stress at school and that may have brought about this uncharacteristic outburst. All the same though, please do not do something like this if it can be helped.

Just as a general reminder to everyone for the Rant forum, please only post if you have helpful, or at the very least, insightful, advice and please word it understandingly and sympathetically, if you don't mind, in order to avoid starting fights like these. Rant is for ranting (and occasional debating), not out and out fighting like this.
