What do you think of the Star Wars references in Code Lyoko?

One reference is the way the monsters fire the lasers.

A reference... ? Well, in both Star Wars and Code Lyoko we don't get to know the "beginning" until later in the story.... (Come on, Season 3!) Not really a reference... but a similarity.

I have noticed the way some of the characters speak...is sorta like similar to the way some of the people speak in Star Wars..but you have to be old enough to have seen some of the original stuff...otherwise you wont catch it...

If Ulrich's sword was a laser sword, then we'd have a sweet light-sabor reference. But for now, but for now, we have to search through the Star Wars movies and look for a samurai.

even though some of the ideas arent exaclty presented in the same exact placement...you can still catch faint hits of similar style between the two. Its hard to explain, but I will try to find similarities and post them..

there we go....someone posted it before I could..but yeah, the two ulrich battles, the whole UxY thing, and poor Jeremie..stuck as the know it all...of course, thats not such a bad thing ya know.

Yeah, you've got most of those covered, but did you know that the whole "Jedi" theme was based on a samuri word? Also, if you look [i]WAY[/i] back, you can find some pictures where Luke is holding something very similar to Ulrich's laser sword thing. Also, in case no one here has noticed, the way Yumi can move rocks and stuff around? Doesn't that seem familiar? :umm:

I've personally never seen or noticed any references to Star Wars in CL, though I may have just missed them, (and I don't normally count lasers as a reference to it) but it would be real cool in my option if there were.. or to any other thing I might know

OH btw not trying to sound rude or anything, but Daegon, next time you want to change a post, instead of double posting (which will get some people coming down on you hard) just go to "Edit Post", it makes it a lot easer for both Us AND you, as well as keeps them from coming down.

The fight between the two Ulrichs in Revelation resembled lightsaber combat.

There are several similarities in the fight.

- Ulrich's sword glowed blue, while the other one's sword glowed red. (Darth Vader vs. Luke Skywalker)
- During the fight, the clone knocked the sword out of the real one's hands (when Luke got his hand chopped off, the same thing happened.)

There are other, littler moments.

- Aeilita's father being Franz Hopper.
- Sector five is kind of like the Death Star
-- There are flying monsters patrolling it.
-- There are bottemless pits and guards everywhere.
-- It's round.
-- Jeremie has to deactivate one of the tunnels to let them get out (remember when Obi-Wan Kenobi turned off the tractor beam?)

Anyone got anything else?

Either way, I still say it'll be fun to see some big bold references to it or other movies/shows, like the monster in James Finson's move which is a direct reference to the Alien movie saga.

I kinda think that Xana is sort of representative of Darth Vader...he is a dark force, and always trying to ruin things for people...but that may not count for much.
