Sleepless nights sleeping days.

I'm not much of a huge fan of ranting but this is something that's making me go nuts.

This has been going on for a few weeks now. I can't seem to fall asleep when I want to. My mom thinks it's because I'm getting use to summer and shes cool with it. But I'm not. At first I would just fall asleep around 9 or 10. Then when a show came on called "Mission Hill" I decided to stay up until 11:30 for the two nights that I got a chance to watch it.

But now my body won't let me go to sleep until it's 1 am or later. It's changing my mood a lot. I'm not happy when I wake up, I want to be left alone. And at night I'm bound with energy bouncing off the walls until it's all gone. It's making me go nuts. I'm prone to get major headaches if I don't get a good nights rest and this is not helping one bit.

For once I just want to go to sleep like a normal person. Not staying up until well after mid night. So if anyone has any advice please let me know because I'm sick of being a night owl every single night.

I have been having the same problem! It kills! So I started to like super sugar myself up in the morning that way when it came night, when I wanted to go to sleep, I could just fall asleep! You could try that but then there are some OTHER problems with that! I ended up crashing and sleeping in the middle of the day so I wasn't tired at night any more! So then I tried something extreamly boring! like I watched a REALLY REALLY REALLY boring show. It would put me to sleep alright, but not right away like I wanted. You can try that too! But my best trick yet was to just lay down in the dark and count! I swear I had a hell of a time trying to count to 10,000 in 1 minute! It put me to sleep in no time because it was boring, yet fun! Although that might not be for you......... But try it non the less! Sorry this post is SO long!

well..I have had problems with my sleep schedule also..so if you want advice, here it comes...set an alarm for the morning about your usual wake up time...and when the alarm hits, wake up, and STAY UP...this worked for me...take a shower, eat breakfast..and try to do a normal routine..and then when you think you should go to bed at about your normal time, do it...I have used this method time after time, and it works. You wont like it very much, but trust me, it works.

Me too! I'm the same way. Reading and listening to music that's slow usually helps me fall asleep.

thats a good method...also take a nice warm bath before you go to bed, and maybe drink a bit of milk...I know milk will put me to sleep fairly quickly.

Someone once told me that if I ever have sleeping problems, I should get out of bed and then do something to get sleepy (because you see, the mind might start relating bed with no sleeping... and that's a bad thing). I think the things listed before are very good ideas, but remember, try not going to bed until you feel sleepy. Hope it helps. :)

yeah, dont go to bed unless you are absolutely tired, and try to go to bed at the same time you usually would.

Music. That makes me sleepy (just not death metal. That sucks.)

Eat a lot before bed (that makes you more tired).

dont eat a lot before going to bed because that will make you gain weight...quickly...but the exercising thing sounds good..just as long as you take a bath and dont go to bed all sweaty...that would suck...but like i said...set the alarm, get up, stay up, then try to go to bed at your normal time and see how well that works.

The reason why I said the food thing was because I get really sleepy after eating a big meal. I just thougt that it might have the same effect on other people.

Of course, having tranquilizer darts shot into you also works...

but seriously...I have had good success with the method I told you about..it totally makes you feel tired, but within a day or so you will be back to your normal schedule..:)

Try doing something boring and stupid, like about an hour of math problems. It will increase your grades AND make your eyelids really heavy!

believe it or not, hes right...doing something boring will make you get tired quicker..trust me I know this from experience.

Now I see why your username is Insanity Hero. :*D rofl :rofl: XD *shlaps self* Just don't worry, I experienced that about two weeks ago. At camp, we stayed up until ungodly hours... and I wouldn't get to sleep until 11:30 to past midnight for about a week. >.< Actually, here's something you should really try- you seem to have all that energy during the night. Try and use it all up during the day- you know, get active! Play a sport or something! Even sunbathing can help- sunlight helps sleep. Seriously.
