I doubt he has any kind of (physical) power over the control room...he'd need to control mechanism that aren't entirelly based on digital media in order to control the opening and closing of the scanners

Well the things xana takes over dont really have to be digital media, i mean, if he can take ever a teddy bear, or laughing gas then id have thought he could take over a door...

But think about it...a teddy bear can be4 esaily controlled via static electricity...and gas reacts to elctric discharges...I think

Makes me think about XANA taking over some sort of Chucky doll and making it destroy the scanners.

no thats a good idea he posses a teacher he can give the team extra hw and detention so they cant fix the tower

Didn't he do just that with the Yumi clone though? Then again, I keep wondering why he didn't send the teddy bear after the scanners. Although it probably wouldn't have fit in the elevator.

In one episode (either "Amnesia" or "Killer Music") Jeremie said that XANA can't attack humans directly. This might eliminate possession from XANA's list of possible attacks. There's alot of fanfics though where he possess people but XANA's never done it within the confines of the show.

Odd gets into the equivalent of a detention in"Big Bug" (Jim is keeping him there until his parents pick up Kiwi). Odd simply distracted Jim and escaped through an open window. Now granted this wouldn't work if he were say three stories up, but it seems the group has ways of ducking out of anything that's holding them up. They probably could get out of a detention easily. Even if the door was locked (which no good teacher would ever do), they all know how to pick locks. Crafty little delinquents aren't they?

in the episode "plagued" xana directly attacked a rat, and poccessed it, why cant he do that to humans aswell?

Dont forget the "not being able to attack humans" law...he can't directly control them without the use of a mediator, and even then his control is quite limited to the chemical and physical limitations of the mediator

well i dont see why he then didnt just mutate a desease or virus and make it fatal
he may not be able to attack humans but he can kill them via something else
