The origin of Xanadu/XANA

I found this out a while ago while looking random stuff up on an English-Chinese dictionary. I decided to look up Xanadu to see if Shangdu (mentioned on Wikipedia to be the Chinese name for Xanadu) is really a city. It turns out that the definition of the word "Xanadu" (yes, it's capitalized) is literally "a beautiful place without danger." From that, I can see that XANA really is just an abbreviation of Xanadu rather than an acronym as Moonscoop had displayed it to impress the little ones.

Even though it is obviously derrived from Xanadu, XANA might actually stand for something. Or it could just be Xana. Who knows? not me.

Well, names can have various definitions an uses. For example, Aelita is also the name of the heroine of the old Soviet propaganda movie Aelita: Queen of Mars. In the first season of Transformers, Optemus Prime also had a girlfriend named Elita-1. So one name can have many meanings!

About the XANA and "no danger," XANA was supposed to be the guardian of a world without danger. The definition of Xanadu is "a beautiful land without danger." That's where XANA comes from, not a name describing XANA itself, but describing the world that is a part of it.

Maybe XANA was a good guy but then somthing went Oh so very wrong and now he is an evil, evil being! That would shock me if my theory was correct and there was an episode about it..... Very scary.....

Belivie or not there are 10 places loaction in the USA mostly on the east coast here is the loaction of one near washington I think 44.11'57.12 N and 88.27'10.32 w .If you have google earth type in the name and it should take our to loaction.

I just got a strange theory... XANA might not really be evil... maybe he's just protecting his 'home'. Or something. HAHAHAlike that'd happen. But still... it might be. The only time a theory of mine was right was when I thought A Bad Turn involved driving.

What do you mean, Google Earth Xanadu? Xanadu's in China, and it's actually called "Shangdu."

Here's my theory, I know it's wierd and probably isn't right but here it goes. I think that XANA was good in the begining. But then Aelita's mom was vertualized as a test subject into Lyoko (you know to make sure it was safe) She wanted revenge on Hopper from being taken away from Aelita so she turned into a virus that infected XANA and turned him evil. (They always refer to XANA as a virus NOT a program). She's been trying to get Aelita to her but has had a grudge on humans ever since. Ya it's a strange one but oh well.

They refer to XANA as a virus, but in reality, it's a bug. Bugs are errors made while programming, while viruses are actual programs that infect other programs to do its dirty work. Viruses are written intentionally. One cannot just "become" a virus.

XANA's specters are viruses because they are intentionally written by XANA to infect other people and objects.

That necklace that Aelita wore in Saint Valentine's Day is a trojan horse because the virus itself emerged when Aelita wore the necklace, just like viruses in trojans activate when you run the program.

Well that me being a prat.I have a progam that alongs me to look around the world using areil short of the world called Goggle Earth .All you need to do is type in the named of what your looking for and it would come up .That why I found 10 places in the USA called xanadu werid.

Oddgirlfirend has a point it always revenge that make thing/ people go pure evil .But I don't relly know what could of happen .

Well it makes sense that they would just have an abbreviation, but if we really pressured Moonscope, I bet somebody could come up with a decent title to fit the acronym.
