But yeah, I don't think Xana has a gender, as he is a program, so technically they'd have to refer to him as "it", but that would sound strange.

Oh yeah? Then what are C-3PO and R2-D2? What about Optemus Prime or Megatron? They're machines, and they have genders! I think that this is a very valid question.

I believe it was created to immitate a male character, but seeing as it is still a program, it is technicaly neutral-gender. Neither.

true..but most of the time, computer programs are made to be males...look at knight rider for instance...in the episode where they found the evil twin of KITT...the other cars computer was a male also...and Kitt is as well...One of the few shows where I can remember the program being a female was Space Cases..which if anyone remembers the show..Thelma-the robot controller of Crysta-the ship itself...was a female android...otherwise, most of the computer programs and or components are male...but I can see your point about neutrality.

And then there is the old Dot Matrix cartoon. Two of them where girls. Nobody remembers the clasics. Anyways, if at any given time X.A.N.A. had a voice to talk to Franz and the other workers, I would say it was probably a male voice. But untill proof that he had a voice arrives, I consider it none.

yeah, I would say its neutral at this point...but if Xana is given a voice...there is a great chance that it would be male...at least in my mind.

In the television show, XANA is often referred to as "he." On the UK Toonami website, however, XANA's referred to as "she." So... XANA's a guy, except in the United Kingdom...?

What happened was that when they were translating, they
A) Used the cheapest translator they could find (he was still learning english)
B) Translated it DIRECTLY from Japanese to English, and their way of talking is different from ours.
